TestPros is seeking aAccessibility Tester (Screen Reader User – Vision Disability) to support the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District program
Position:Part-time (5-15 hours a week), Contract (4–6 months)
Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship or Green Card holder

Responsibilities and Duties
The Accessibility Tester (Screen Reader User – Vision Disability) will support the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District. The district is undertaking a 4–6 month Accessibility of Web Information and Services Project to ensure its websites and mobile applications comply with WCAG 2.1 Level AA and the U.S. Department of Justice’s 2024 accessibility standards. The project includes auditing digital assets, developing a compliance plan, training staff, and validating accessibility improvements through a combination of certified consultants and native screen reader users.
The Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District is conducting an accessibility compliance project to ensure its websites and mobile applications meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards and ADA requirements. As part of this effort, we are seeking a tester with lived experience navigating digital content using screen reader technology.
This role is ideal for aperson with a vision disability who regularly uses screen readers (such as JAWS, NVDA, or VoiceOver). You will work collaboratively with a sighted accessibility consultant to test digital platforms, identify barriers, and help ensure full compliance with accessibility standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Test websites and mobile apps using your screen reader
Provide usability feedback from a real-world perspective
Collaborate with the accessibility consultant to identify and describe accessibility barriers
Participate in validation of remediated content
Offer input to improve digital experiences for users with disabilities
Qualifications:
Lived experience as a screen reader user due to a vision disability
Comfortable using assistive technology (JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, etc.)
Familiarity with accessibility challenges and WCAG principles is helpful
Prior experience with usability testing or digital feedback is a plus
Strong communication skills to share insights clearly and constructively
IAAP CPACC certification required.
