The dscout team is on the search for an experienced Accounting Manager to support our growing company and more specifically, our Finance team. This role would report directly to our Controller. You will be responsible for supporting the finance organization’s day-to-day needs by ensuring transactions are reported accurately, accounts are reconciled, and financial statements are prepared timely. The Accounting Manger must have a strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), have a keen attention to detail, sound judgment, and an eagerness to learn and contribute to a fast-growing company. Much of this work will be collaborative, and involve close partnerships with many other departments across dscout.
- Prepare journal entries, analyses, and account reconciliations as part of the monthly close process
- Serve as the Company’s technical accounting expert, proactively evaluate complex transactions and provide technical accounting guidance and recommendations
- Lead the Company’s accounting processes around ASC 606 revenue recognition and ASC 340-20 Internal Use Software
- Maintain documentation, records, analyses, and financial reports that validate the financial statements are complete and accurate
- Prepare financial reporting in accordance with accounting principles generally accepted in the United States (GAAP)Work with external auditors and tax advisors with the completion of the annual audit and tax returns
- Respond to information requests and meet reporting deadlines
- Assist the Controller & CFO as needed with ad hoc requests
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, CPA highly preferred
- 7+ years of relevant work experience
- Private and Public accounting experience, SaaS highly preferred
- Experience with NetSuite and familiarity with systems that support accounts receivable, accounts payable, and expense reporting (i.e., Maxio, Ramp, Anrok, Salesforce, Stripe, etc.)
- Proficiency with systems and previous automation and/or process improvement a plus
- Prioritizes competing workloads and meets important deadlines
- Support compliance with state and international tax regulations (e.g., sales tax, VAT/GST) in coordination with tax advisors
- Technical expertise around ASC 606 revenue recognition and ASC 340-20 Internal Use Software
- Experience working with cross functional teams (e.g., Engineering, Product) to calculate the financial impact of capitalization of internal use software
- Identify, analyze, and apply technical guidance primarily related to software and SaaS revenue recognition, owning accounting policies and memos related to revenue, and provide training to internal staff on technical accounting matters
- Enjoys solving problems and serving customers of the finance organization, internally and externally
- Excellent presentation and communication skills, both oral and written
