An overview of this role
As an AR Accountant at GitLab,. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, this role will be responsible for supporting the monthly close process including making journal entries, cash and bank reconciliations and preparing and analyzing balance sheet and P&L accounts. Preferred location for this role is Ireland.
What You’ll Do
- As an expert in US GAAP and IFRS standards, you will be tasked with both operational accounting and reporting, including detailed analysis, reconciliation and reporting of all general ledger accounts.
- Responsible for monthly, quarterly and year-end close procedures including preparation of journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations for Billing and Accounts Receivable.
- Serve as the primary liaison and point of contact for Billing and AR during external audit procedures
- Partner with the Quote-to-Cash (Q2C) team for system and process improvement projects
- Provide insight and input on accounting impacts of system and process changes to Zuora Billing
- Reconcile and analyze AR sub-ledger accounts to the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completenessEstablish effective and automated processes for AR reporting and analytics
- Support the design and implementation of new policies and procedures related to audit requirements and business activities
- Work with and support the accounting team in day-to-day activities, special projects, and workflow process improvements
- Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned
What You’ll Bring
- 3 years US GAAP public company experience is required, prior experience in SaaS/Tech is a plus
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or similar discipline
- Certified Public Accountant a plus but not required
- Deep understanding of US GAAP with IFRS knowledge beneficial
- Experience with Zuora Billing or similar billing systems highly desirable
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite and/or Google Docs and Sheets.
- Experience working with Netsuite preferred or other ERP tools such as Oracle, SAP and Workday.
- Experience working with international subsidiaries and multi-currency transactions.
- Flexible to meet changing priorities and the ability to prioritize workload to achieve on time accurate results.
- Detail-oriented, self-directed and able to effectively complete tasks with minimal supervision.
