TRM Labs is a blockchain intelligence company committed to fighting crime and creating a safer world. By leveraging blockchain data, threat intelligence, and advanced analytics, our products empower governments, financial institutions, and crypto businesses to combat illicit activity and global security threats. At TRM, you'll join a mission-driven, fast-paced team made up of experts in law enforcement, data science, engineering, and financial intelligence, tackling complex global challenges daily. Whether analyzing blockchain data, developing cutting-edge tools, or collaborating with global organizations, you'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful and lasting impact.

Join a pioneering AI Engineering team at the intersection of blockchain technology and artificial intelligence.

At TRM, we're on a mission to leverage AI and machine learning to build sophisticated intelligence solutions that provide unique insights and actionable data in the blockchain space. As the first AI Engineering Manager, you will work alongside a multidisciplinary team of blockchain experts, data scientists, and software engineers to design, develop, and deploy ML/AI-driven solutions that push the boundaries of what's possible in blockchain intelligence. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about innovation and eager to contribute to an emerging field. We’re looking for someone who is technically strong and willing to be very hands on/do some IC work, in addition to being a leader.

The impact you will have:

  • Own the vision and roadmap for AI-driven products, identifying opportunities to solve real-world customer problems in blockchain intelligence.
  • Lead the technical implementation of AI systems, ensuring scalability, reliability, and long-term sustainability while managing technical debt.

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience in Productizing ML/AI - 5+ years of experience building and deploying multiple AI systems in production. Must have experience building AI products at a high velocity. GenAI Productization experience is a plus.
  • AI/ML Expertise: Deep understanding of AI technologies, LLMs, ML, NLP, and their applications in production environments.
  • Programming Skills - Proficiency in Python and other relevant programming languages such as Java, C++, or Solidity. Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases is a plus.
  • Data Skills - Strong experience with data preprocessing, feature engineering, and data mining. Familiarity with large-scale data warehouses and frameworks (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, BigQuery, Snowflake) is a plus.
  • Problem-Solving Mindset - Ability to break down complex problems and implement efficient and innovative solutions that deliver measurable value to our customers. Experience in a fast-paced environment and comfort with iterative development is essential.

About the Team:

  • Seniority: A mix of different levels of seniority team members, fostering mentorship and collaboration.
  • Collaboration Style: Fast-paced, short, and ambitious sprints designed to drive immediate impact.
  • Culture: A small startup within a startup—a team that thrives on autonomy, rapid iteration, and high ownership.
  • Soft Skills That Fit Well: Comfortable with ambiguity, adaptable to failure, and driven by customer success rather than technical perfection.

Safe Remote Job Search Tips

Verify Employer Thoroughly

Research the company's identity thoroughly before applying. Check for a professional website with contacts, active social media, and LinkedIn profiles. Verify details across platforms and look for reviews on Glassdoor or Trustpilot to confirm legitimacy.

Never Pay to Get a Job

Legitimate employers never require payment for applications, training, background checks, or equipment. Always reject upfront payment requests or demands for bank details, even if they claim it's for purchasing necessary work gear on your behalf.

Safeguard Your Personal Information

Protect sensitive data like SSN, bank details, or ID copies. Share this only after accepting a formal, written job offer. Ensure it's submitted via a secure company system or portal, never through insecure channels like standard email attachments.

Scrutinize Communication & Interviews

Watch for communication red flags: poor grammar, generic emails (@gmail), vague details, or undue pressure. Be highly suspicious of interviews held only via text or chat apps; legitimate companies typically use video or phone calls.

Beware of Unrealistic Offers

If an offer's salary or benefits seem unrealistically high for the work involved, be cautious. Research standard pay for similar roles. Offers that appear 'too good to be true' are often scams designed to lure you into providing information or payment.

Insist on a Formal Contract

Always secure and review a formal, written job offer or employment contract before starting work or sharing final personal details. Ensure it clearly defines your role, compensation, key terms, and conditions to avoid misunderstandings or scams.
