Job Description

We’re on a mission to democratize AI by building the definitive AI data development platform. The AI landscape has gone through incredible change between 2016, when Snorkel started as a research project in the Stanford AI Lab, to the generative AI breakthroughs of today. But one thing has remained constant: the data you use to build AI is the key to achieving differentiation, high performance, and production-ready systems. We work with some of the world’s largest organizations to empower scientists, engineers, financial experts, product creators, journalists, and more to build custom AI with their data faster than ever before. Excited to help us redefine how AI is built? Apply to be the newest Snorkeler!

Role Description

We’re looking for an expert Developer Advocate who’s passionate about helping AI/ML engineers and data scientists build state-of-the-art AI applications. You enjoy creating technical content—white papers, blog posts, demos—that helps users overcome real-world challenges.

As a Developer Advocate, you’ll engage with the AI/ML community through social media and by attending and speaking at conferences. This role requires hands-on experience in AI/ML and a strong desire to educate others on the latest techniques and best practices.

You’ll work at the intersection of product, sales, and engineering—bringing the best of Snorkel to the market, and channeling insights from the field back to the team. Join us at Snorkel and create the developer advocacy program and help shape the future of enterprise AI.

Responsibilities

  • Technical Expertise: Demonstrate how to build AI applications with Snorkel Flow, and incorporate the latest learnings from academic research
  • Community Engagement: Connect with the developer and AI/ML community through virtual and in-person events, building relationships with industry experts and peers
  • Content Creation: Craft high-quality, developer-focused content—blog posts, white papers, demos, videos, and social media—that educates and inspires
  • Network Building: Grow a strong network of thought leaders, practitioners, and influencers across the AI/ML space
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner closely with engineering, product, marketing and sales to ensure alignment across the organization
  • Industry Awareness: Stay current on emerging trends, tools, and research in AI/ML, and share insights with both internal teams and external audiences

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience as a dev advocate, data scientist, AI/ML engineer or technical marketer
  • Established—or eager to build—a presence on social media platforms
  • Experience hosting meetups, workshops, or community events
  • A self-starter with a passion for education, content creation, and connecting with technical communities
  • Expertise in modern machine learning frameworks and technologies (e.g. PyTorch, TensorFlow, transformers)
  • Knowledge of industry standard technologies in the Data Science and Machine Learning space
  • Fluency with scripting in Python
  • Hands-on experience building and implementing machine learning or AI models
  • Outstanding presentation skills to both technical and executive audiences, including presentations and demos
  • University degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or related fields, or equivalent experience preferred

The salary range for our Tier 1 locations of San Francisco, Seattle, Los Angeles & New York is $132,000.00 - $200,000.00.

Safe Remote Job Search Tips

Verify Employer Thoroughly

Research the company's identity thoroughly before applying. Check for a professional website with contacts, active social media, and LinkedIn profiles. Verify details across platforms and look for reviews on Glassdoor or Trustpilot to confirm legitimacy.

Never Pay to Get a Job

Legitimate employers never require payment for applications, training, background checks, or equipment. Always reject upfront payment requests or demands for bank details, even if they claim it's for purchasing necessary work gear on your behalf.

Safeguard Your Personal Information

Protect sensitive data like SSN, bank details, or ID copies. Share this only after accepting a formal, written job offer. Ensure it's submitted via a secure company system or portal, never through insecure channels like standard email attachments.

Scrutinize Communication & Interviews

Watch for communication red flags: poor grammar, generic emails (@gmail), vague details, or undue pressure. Be highly suspicious of interviews held only via text or chat apps; legitimate companies typically use video or phone calls.

Beware of Unrealistic Offers

If an offer's salary or benefits seem unrealistically high for the work involved, be cautious. Research standard pay for similar roles. Offers that appear 'too good to be true' are often scams designed to lure you into providing information or payment.

Insist on a Formal Contract

Always secure and review a formal, written job offer or employment contract before starting work or sharing final personal details. Ensure it clearly defines your role, compensation, key terms, and conditions to avoid misunderstandings or scams.
