The Role
We’re hiring anAuto Mechanic Writer to produce clear, accurate, and engaging articles on a range of car repair, troubleshooting, and maintenance topics. This is a freelance, remote opportunity, offering flexible hours with consistent assignments.
You’ll break down complex mechanical concepts into friendly, actionable guidance, ensuring car owners can make smart, confident decisions.
What You’ll Do
Research and write well-structured articles (typically 800–1,500 words) on repairs, part replacements, common vehicle problems, and maintenance schedules.
Create content that’s accurate, easy to understand, and aligned with SEO best practices and Jerry’s style guide.
Use reputable automotive sources, manufacturer recommendations, and your own expertise to ensure high factual standards.
Deliver ~5 new articles per week (or update 10 existing articles per week), or adjust volume based on your availability.
Collaborate with our editorial team on outlines, revisions, and publishing workflows via CMS (WordPress or similar).
About You
Automotive expertise: ASE-certified mechanic or equivalent extensive hands-on experience with diagnostics and repairs.
Writing background: Experience with writing or editing automotive content for blogs, magazines, manuals, or service websites.
Content tools: Familiarity with CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress) and basic SEO concepts (keywords, headers, meta descriptions).
Excellent communicator: Ability to simplify technical topics and write with a clear, consumer-friendly voice.
Detail-oriented & deadline-driven: You fact-check thoroughly and consistently meet agreed-upon timelines.
