THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for a Backend Software Engineer Specialist to join our Billing team in Portugal!

Our platform supports the entire Wellhub business and handles millions of transactions for users and companies around the world. We work closely with cross-functional teams and payment service providers to ensure optimal checkout conversion rates and efficient account management.

To maintain consistency across multiple areas and services, we are currently developing a new architecture and set of systems.

YOUR IMPACT
  • You will research and execute strategic projects along with your team. Your deliverables influence B2B and B2C checkout conversion around the globe, by both creating new integrations for different tax authorities and improving/maintaining existing ones.
  • Together with the technical leadership, you will implement and deliver solutions working with a cross-functional team.
  • You will have the opportunity to develop leadership skills, working closely with senior engineers and helping them speed up their learning curve. You will also have opportunities to develop engineering skills by getting involved in scalability problems, system architecture, and code quality assurance, among others.
  • You will participate in the development of some of the most critical and challenging services in our ecosystem, seeking to build long-term and sustainable solutions.
  • You will design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve services focusing on performance, scalability, and resilience;
  • You will build Integration with 3rd-party API and tools;
  • You will work in a collaborative and agile environment that prioritizes people over process.
  • Also, you will work with cutting-edge technologies and edge cases on a global scale.

WHO YOU ARE
  • Focus on making things right and better at every opportunity
  • Solid experience with RESTful APIs written in:
  • Software Architecture knowledge
  • Software quality and test automation mindset
  • Cloud computing (AWS) and Cloud Native (K8s) experience
  • Experience with SQL technology such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server or any other relational database
  • Experience with microservices and high-volume distributed systems
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent professional experience
