Job Description

About Anthropic

Anthropic’s mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.

Business Systems Analyst

About the role

As a Business Systems Analyst on Anthropic's Business Technology team, you will play a critical role in driving our organization's operational excellence through strategic systems implementation and optimization. While you'll be actively involved in our Workday implementation, this role extends far beyond a single platform to encompass our broader enterprise systems ecosystem.

You'll serve as the vital bridge between business stakeholders and technology solutions, translating complex functional requirements into actionable system configurations and processes. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring our business systems not only meet today's needs but also scale with our rapid growth and evolving requirements. From documentation and enablement to hands-on systems configuration, you'll help empower our teams with the tools and knowledge they need to do their best work.

Responsibilities

  • Lead functional requirements gathering sessions with business stakeholders across multiple departments to deeply understand process needs and translate them into technical system requirements
  • Configure and optimize business systems with a focus on Workday modules (HCM, Financial Management, Planning) while maintaining expertise across other enterprise platforms
  • Design and implement system workflows, automations, and integrations that enhance operational efficiency and user experience
  • Create comprehensive documentation including system guides, process flows, training materials, and best practice resources
  • Develop and deliver enablement programs and training sessions for end users, ensuring successful adoption of system functionality and process changes
  • Partner closely with business teams to analyze current state processes, identify improvement opportunities, and design future state solutions
  • Manage system testing efforts including test plan development, UAT coordination, and bug resolution tracking
  • Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for business systems, serving as a subject matter expert and escalation point
  • Collaborate with IT Engineering teams to define integration requirements and ensure seamless data flow between systems
  • Measure and monitor system performance and user feedback to continuously optimize configurations and identify enhancement opportunities

You may be a good fit if you

  • Have 5+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst with deep expertise in enterprise software configuration and implementation
  • Possess hands-on experience with Workday (HCM and/or Financial modules preferred) along with demonstrated proficiency in other business systems such as GSuite, NetSuite, or similar platforms
  • Excel at requirements gathering and stakeholder management, with the ability to facilitate productive discussions between technical and business teams
  • Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience designing efficient business processes and system workflows
  • Are skilled at creating clear, comprehensive documentation and training materials for diverse audiences
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Have experience with system integrations, data mapping, and understanding of API fundamentals
  • Show proficiency in project management with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Are passionate about user experience and driving adoption of business systems and processes
  • Bring a collaborative mindset and enjoy working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Strong candidates may also have

  • Experience with additional business systems such as procurement platforms, expense management tools, or business intelligence platforms
  • Knowledge of data analysis tools and techniques including SQL or similar query languages
  • Familiarity with automation platforms or workflow tools (e.g., Zapier, Microsoft Power Platform, or similar)
  • Experience with change management methodologies and driving organizational transformation
  • Background in business process improvement, Lean, or Six Sigma methodologies
  • Previous experience in high-growth technology companies or startup environments
  • Interest in AI and how emerging technologies can enhance business operations

Deadline to apply: None. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.

The expected salary range for this position is:

Annual Salary:
$230,000$285,000 USD

Logistics

Education requirements: We require at least a Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

Location-based hybrid policy:
Currently, we expect all staff to be in one of our offices at least 25% of the time. However, some roles may require more time in our offices.

Visa sponsorship: We do sponsor visas! However, we aren't able to successfully sponsor visas for every role and every candidate. But if we make you an offer, we will make every reasonable effort to get you a visa, and we retain an immigration lawyer to help with this.

We encourage you to apply even if you do not believe you meet every single qualification. Not all strong candidates will meet every single qualification as listed. Research shows that people who identify as being from underrepresented groups are more prone to experiencing imposter syndrome and doubting the strength of their candidacy, so we urge you not to exclude yourself prematurely and to submit an application if you're interested in this work. We think AI systems like the ones we're building have enormous social and ethical implications. We think this makes representation even more important, and we strive to include a range of diverse perspectives on our team.

How we're different

We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills.

The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research. This research continues many of the directions our team worked on prior to Anthropic, including: GPT-3, Circuit-Based Interpretability, Multimodal Neurons, Scaling Laws, AI & Compute, Concrete Problems in AI Safety, and Learning from Human Preferences.

Come work with us!

Anthropic is a public benefit corporation headquartered in San Francisco. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, flexible working hours, and a lovely office space in which to collaborate with colleagues.

Safe Remote Job Search Tips

Verify Employer Thoroughly

Research the company's identity thoroughly before applying. Check for a professional website with contacts, active social media, and LinkedIn profiles. Verify details across platforms and look for reviews on Glassdoor or Trustpilot to confirm legitimacy.

Never Pay to Get a Job

Legitimate employers never require payment for applications, training, background checks, or equipment. Always reject upfront payment requests or demands for bank details, even if they claim it's for purchasing necessary work gear on your behalf.

Safeguard Your Personal Information

Protect sensitive data like SSN, bank details, or ID copies. Share this only after accepting a formal, written job offer. Ensure it's submitted via a secure company system or portal, never through insecure channels like standard email attachments.

Scrutinize Communication & Interviews

Watch for communication red flags: poor grammar, generic emails (@gmail), vague details, or undue pressure. Be highly suspicious of interviews held only via text or chat apps; legitimate companies typically use video or phone calls.

Beware of Unrealistic Offers

If an offer's salary or benefits seem unrealistically high for the work involved, be cautious. Research standard pay for similar roles. Offers that appear 'too good to be true' are often scams designed to lure you into providing information or payment.

Insist on a Formal Contract

Always secure and review a formal, written job offer or employment contract before starting work or sharing final personal details. Ensure it clearly defines your role, compensation, key terms, and conditions to avoid misunderstandings or scams.
