The Opportunity:

We’re looking for a Business Systems & Data Platform Administrator to establish and lead how we manage the internal tools that power our operations and decision-making.

This is the first dedicated role focused on business applications and data platforms at our organization. The ideal candidate is both a doer and a collaborator, comfortable configuring systems directly, managing implementation partners, and working across teams to align tools with real-world needs.

In addition to administering and optimizing platforms like our CRM, HR systems, and business intelligence tools, this role will lead cross-functional coordination and vendor engagement for a major systems and data migration initiative, including the transition off Salesforce and the setup of a centralized AWS-based analytics environment.

The role will report directly to the Managing Director, Operations.

This is a remote, full time position. We require strong written and verbal communication skills to facilitate effective work coordination across various virtual communication platforms. This role works closely with staff across Canada, US, and Europe. Consequently, applicants in the Eastern / Central Standard time zones are preferred.

What you’ll do:

  • Serve as the internal project lead for major system transitions and implementations, including CRM and BI platforms.
  • Develop project plans and timelines, and manage deliverables across internal staff, external partners, and vendors.
  • Facilitate communication between functional stakeholders, implementation partners, and technical teams.
  • Support configuration, documentation, and rollout of new tools and integrations.
  • Administer and configure internal SaaS tools (e.g., CRM, HRIS, email platforms, productivity software).
  • Manage business intelligence systems (e.g., Metabase, Looker, Power BI), including setup, user access, dashboard maintenance, and performance tuning.
  • Maintain cross-system integrations and ensure consistent, reliable data across platforms.
  • Collaborate with teams across the organization to align tools with evolving needs and streamline workflows.
  • Contribute to the development of a centralized analytics environment to support self-service reporting.
  • Support data governance and compliance (e.g., access controls, GDPR, SOC 2).
  • Work with external vendors, contractors, or consultants when specialized support is needed.

What you’ll bring:

  • 7+ years of experience administering business systems (CRM, HR, marketing), business intelligence or analytics platforms.
  • Demonstrated success managing complex technical or data-related projects involving external vendors or contractors.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to drive execution while coordinating stakeholders and timelines.
  • Experience bridging functional subject-matter experts and technical implementers (e.g., analysts, engineers, consultants).
  • Experience with BI tools (e.g., Metabase, Looker, Power BI, Tableau), including dashboard and report development.
  • Working knowledge of SQL and data modeling concepts for reporting and integration.
  • Experience managing integrations and supporting data pipelines across platforms.
  • Ability to thrive in a small, fast-paced environment where adaptability and a hands-on approach are essential.
  • Deep respect for diverse technical and non-technical perspectives, and a commitment to fostering an inclusive and respectful culture.
  • Commitment to open-source principles, including support for open standards and user privacy.

Bonus points for:

  • Experience with Salesforce migrations
  • Familiarity with modern data pipeline or ELT tools
  • Comfort with scripting or automation using tools like Python, Bash, or low-code platforms
  • Background in scaling internal tools and analytics capabilities in a mission-driven organization
  • Exposure to compliance or governance initiatives (e.g., GDPR, SOC 2) in data or system contexts

What you’ll get:

We benchmark our base salaries to local markets and target the 60th percentile of the peer market. The salary ranges for this role are:

  • Canada: $85,000 - $100,000 CAD
