We’ve joined forces with top AI and crowd researchers at Anthropic, Character.AI, Imbue, Stanford, and University of Pennsylvania to build a fair and ethical platform for AI developers to collaborate with domain experts to train bespoke AI models.

About the role

As Pareto’sCommunity Specialist, you’ll partner with our Community Learning & Development Manager to drive the growth and engagement of our global expert community—PhDs, educators, researchers, and professionals across domains. This opportunity is a high-impact, cross-functional role at the heart of our mission to connect world-class experts with frontier AI work.

Partnering closely with Product, Operations, and Recruiting, you’ll drive our community strategy—from scaling onboarding systems and engagement programs to launching in-person events and fostering long-term relationships with our experts. Your goal: build a vibrant, high-retention community that’s central to how we deliver top quality data and excellence to clients like OpenAI, Anthropic, and Perplexity.

You’ll be both an owner and an operator—designing scalable programs and rolling up your sleeves to execute them. If you thrive on building systems that serve real people and shaping the future of expert work in AI, we’d love to meet you.

Key responsibilities

Community Growth & Partnerships

• Lead community expansion efforts and grow our expert network

• Build relationships with universities, alumni groups, and professional communities
  

In-Person Events & Representation

• Attend and represent Pareto at key conferences, meetups, and industry events

• Cultivate relationships with experts, partners, and community stakeholders
  

Onboarding & Expert Journey

• Collaborate cross-functionally to streamline onboarding and activation

• Continuously improve the expert experience from first touch to long-term engagement
  

Engagement & Retention

• Design and launch programs that foster connection, belonging, and ongoing engagement

• Track and report on community health metrics (e.g. retention, satisfaction, activity)
  

Ambassador Program

• Build and scale a peer-led Ambassador Program to empower community leadership
  

Feedback & Internal Collaboration

• Be the voice of the expert community to our internal teams

• Gather feedback, surface pain points, and propose improvements
  

What you’ll need

• 2+ years experience in community building, operations, or partnerships

• Background in remote, fast-paced, or globally distributed teams ideally at an early-staged startup like ours

• Experience with both in-person and online community-building

• Proven track record designing and scaling engagement programs

• Strong cross-cultural communication skills and high empathy

Nice to have

• Background in AI, future of work, or digital labor platforms

• Pre-existing connections to universities and/or professional expert communities

• Multilingual or experience working with multilingual communities
