Job Description

The United Firm | La Liga Defensora, APC is looking to hire an experienced Criminal Intake/Vetting Virtual Assistant with a desire to grow within the legal industry. The Client Intake/Vetting Virtual Assistant will be the first point of contact with prospective clients, will screen leads, and will be responsible for obtaining case details that will allow the firm to determine if a case should be retained. This position must be staffed by an individual who is business development oriented and works well with people. We ask that you have a strong customer service background and possess the ability to screen potential client calls. You will ensure operational excellence and handle a large volume of incoming client calls.

Responsibilities

  • Handling inbound phone calls, setting appointments, and screening prospective clients before scheduling an attorney-client consultation
  • Track and monitor potential new client inquiries and leads (email, internal, and phone referrals)
  • Assists with answering customer inquiries and problems by routing customer to the proper contact and/or department
  • Accurately log client information in our software database system
  • Assist attorneys with administrative tasks related to opening new cases and maintaining databases
  • Write emails, transcribe notes, research legal documents, fax, copy, and create spreadsheets.

Qualifications

  • Must be bilingual (English/Spanish) with written and verbal proficiency
  • At least 2 years of experience doing intake in the legal field.
  • Great interpersonal skills, extending patience when working with individuals and proactive when issues arise.
  • Ability to maintain several responsibilities at once and time-management skills, prioritizing high- and low-level demands adequately
