Responsibilities and Duties:
The Cybersecurity Information Analyst supports the entire squadron and generates and edits documentation for IT application projects as directed by the Project Lead.
- Develops and edits technical and user documentation for cybersecurity systems.
- Communicates technical messages to specific audiences at levels the users can fully understand.
- Presents information in reports, standard operating procedures, instruction manuals, online systems, or other media such as PowerPoint presentations.
- Assists in collection and organizing information required for preparation of System Security Plans, Security Assessment Reports, ATO process documentation (including COOP), CCRIs and other inspections, and special project presentations.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Must have at least 1 year of experience and a BS degree (or additional years of exp.)
- Knowledge of Air Force communication squadron culture as well as a basic-intermediate technical knowledge in endpoint security, network vulnerability scanning, insider threat, cross domain solutions, cyber defense monitoring and detections, cybersecurity and resiliency, and SCRM. Familiar with DoD/AF publications + issuances (e.g., NIST 800-53 RMF). Familiarity with eMASS (including writing POA&Ms) or ability to learn new programs efficiently with minimal oversight after training.
- Familiarity with STIGs and compliance methods (will be writing many SOPs based on STIG requirements) as well as CCRIs. Be present during CCRIs.
- Commute at least three days per week due to in-person meetings and working on SIPR. Additional in-person support may be required depending on ATO/CCRI season.
- Ability to communicate effectively with the airmen and write “army-proof” SOPs. Ability to explain complicated technical ideas to non-technical supervisors and commanders. Possess understanding of SOPs such that Technical Writer/Editor could train a new airmen on how to use them if necessary due to personnel deployments, TDYs, extensive leaves, etc.
- Project management/oversight skills due to volume of documentation and number of people are involved.
- Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, information science, technical writing, or other relative area of study.
- At least 1 year of relevant experience supporting similar requirements for Department of Defense systems and environments.
- Active security clearance (Secret or above).
- CompTIA Security+ certification; additional cybersecurity/project management encouraged.
- Knowledge of eMASS, ITIPS, SNAP(NIPR)/GIAP(SIPR), STIG Viewer, Evaluate STIG, ACAS/SCAP, Microsoft Teams.
