We are seeking a Developer Relations Lead who will help us rapidly grow a vibrant developer community by creating educational content, cultivating strategic partnerships, evangelizing at industry events, and delivering exceptional developer experiences.

The ideal candidate will feel at ease in a dynamic environment with minimal support and plenty of autonomy to learn, experiment, and implement independently. What you’ll do:

  • Developer Evangelism: Regularly communicate with developers to gather feedback and ensure community needs directly shape product development. Develop and manage comprehensive documentation, practical tutorials, compelling blogs, videos, and example projects showcasing capabilities and best practices.
  • Partnerships & Outreach: Establish relationships with key startups, developer communities, and enterprise tech teams in the AI ecosystem. Further strategic partnerships and integrations that benefit the user base.
  • Community Building: Build and cultivate a passionate developer community from day one, via GitHub, Discord, social media, and industry forums. Track community engagement metrics and insights to inform strategy.
  • Developer Outreach Strategy: Run creative developer programs to encourage participation, highlight user success stories, drive awareness and adoption. Help produce demos, interactive playgrounds, and starter-kits that make the onboarding experience frictionless and enjoyable.
  • Events and Speaking: Represent Mozilla at conferences, webinars, and developer meetups.

What you’ll bring:

  • 5+ years in Developer Relations or community-building roles, ideally in AI/ML or developer tools.
  • Proven ability to advance developer communities on platforms like GitHub, X, Discord.
  • Strong technical writing and content creation skills, with experience producing clear, accessible documentation, blog posts, tutorials, or videos.
  • Ability to rapidly build trust and significant relationships with developers, influencers, and ecosystem partners.
  • Deep understanding of AI technologies and developer tooling.
  • Existing influential presence within AI or developer communities.
  • Tight knit collaboration skills with product, engineering, and design teams.

Nice to have:

  • An existing positive relationship with and knowledge of open source, privacy or tech for good ecosystems
  • Experience working with passionate and engaged product or technology communities
  • An interest in or past participation in open source projects and communities.
  • Experience with ecosystems like LangChain, LlamaIndex, or Hugging Face.
  • Familiarity with browser automation or structured data extraction.
  • A past body of published technical work: this could include conference talks, tutorials, videos or any other kind of work where you’re communicating complex technical concepts to an audience

Bonus Points:

  • Prior contributions to popular open-source AI projects.
  • Experience with ecosystems like LangChain, LlamaIndex, or Hugging Face.
  • Familiarity with browser automation or structured data extraction.
  • Active content creator with published blogs, tutorials, or public speaking experience.

What you’ll get:

  • Generous performance-based bonus plans to all eligible employees - we share in our success as one team
  • Rich medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • Generous retirement contributions with 100% immediate vesting (regardless of whether you contribute)
  • Quarterly all-company wellness days where everyone takes a pause together
  • Country specific holidays plus a day off for your birthday
  • One-time home office stipend
  • Annual professional development budget
  • Quarterly well-being stipend
  • Considerable paid parental leave
  • Employee referral bonus program

Safe Remote Job Search Tips

Verify Employer Thoroughly

Research the company's identity thoroughly before applying. Check for a professional website with contacts, active social media, and LinkedIn profiles. Verify details across platforms and look for reviews on Glassdoor or Trustpilot to confirm legitimacy.

Never Pay to Get a Job

Legitimate employers never require payment for applications, training, background checks, or equipment. Always reject upfront payment requests or demands for bank details, even if they claim it's for purchasing necessary work gear on your behalf.

Safeguard Your Personal Information

Protect sensitive data like SSN, bank details, or ID copies. Share this only after accepting a formal, written job offer. Ensure it's submitted via a secure company system or portal, never through insecure channels like standard email attachments.

Scrutinize Communication & Interviews

Watch for communication red flags: poor grammar, generic emails (@gmail), vague details, or undue pressure. Be highly suspicious of interviews held only via text or chat apps; legitimate companies typically use video or phone calls.

Beware of Unrealistic Offers

If an offer's salary or benefits seem unrealistically high for the work involved, be cautious. Research standard pay for similar roles. Offers that appear 'too good to be true' are often scams designed to lure you into providing information or payment.

Insist on a Formal Contract

Always secure and review a formal, written job offer or employment contract before starting work or sharing final personal details. Ensure it clearly defines your role, compensation, key terms, and conditions to avoid misunderstandings or scams.
