DevOps Engineer, US - East Coast Preferred

Description

Join our innovative team as a DevOps Engineer and be a pivotal part of Cobalt's journey in redefining cybersecurity. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in devops and cloud infrastructure to drive significant advancements in our Pentest as a Service (PtaaS) platform. Your contributions will directly impact the way businesses globally detect and manage cybersecurity risks. What You'll Do

  • Deploy, manage, and optimize GKE clusters to run containerized applications.
  • Ensure scalability, availability, and security of microservices in Kubernetes.
  • Implement service mesh solutions (e.g., Istio, Linkerd) and traffic management strategies.
  • Design and maintain cloud resources using Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Automate provisioning, scaling, and configuration management using
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines
  • Maintain observability tools
  • Proactively monitor system health, detect anomalies, and resolve performance bottlenecks.
  • Establish incident response workflows and participate in on-call rotations.
  • Manage and optimize cloud databases (Cloud SQL, Firestore, Spanner, BigQuery) to ensure efficient data storage and access.
  • Implement database backup, replication, and failover strategies.
  • Enforce IAM policies, role-based access control (RBAC), and network security best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with SOC 2, HIPAA, or other industry standards as required.

You Have

  • 3+ years of experience in Cloud Operations, DevOps, or SRE roles.
  • Strong expertise with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services, especially GKE, Cloud Run, Cloud SQL, and IAM.
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Helm, and service meshes.
  • Proficiency in Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Solid experience with CI/CD tools
  • Strong scripting and automation skills in Python, Bash, or Go.
  • Experience with monitoring, logging, and tracing tools
  • Understanding of networking, security best practices, and database management in a cloud environment..

Bonus If You Have

  • Knowledge of serverless computing (Cloud Run, Cloud Functions).
  • Familiarity with policy-as-code frameworks like OPA (Open Policy Agent).
  • Exposure to machine learning workloads on Kubernetes.

Pay Range Disclosure

Cobalt is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this role is ($109,000 - $137,000) per year + equity + benefits. A candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, and certifications. The salary range may differ in other states and may be impacted by proximity to major metropolitan cities.
