As we scale, we’re seeking a visionary Director, Corporate Engineering - Applied AI to lead the development and integration of AI solutions that enhance our internal operations and customer experiences. This role is pivotal in shaping our AI strategy, ensuring that our technological advancements align with our business objectives.

- The cash compensation for this role is tailored to align with the cost of labor in different geographic markets. We've structured the base pay ranges for this role into zones for our geographic markets, and the specific base pay within the range will be determined by the candidate’s geographic location, job-related experience, knowledge, qualifications, and skills.
- United States (all figures cited below are in USD and pertain to workers in the United States)
- Zone A: 234,000 – 344,300
- Zone B: 220,500 – 323,600
- Zone C: 206,100 – 302,900
This role is also eligible to participate in Webflow's company-wide bonus program. Target amounts are a percentage of base salary and vary by career level. Payouts are based on company performance against established financial and operational goals.

As the Director, Corporate Engineering - Applied AI, you will spearhead the identification, development, and deployment of AI-driven solutions across Webflow. Your leadership will be instrumental in transforming our operations, driving efficiency, and fostering innovation. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to integrate AI capabilities that support our growth and enhance our product offerings.
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive AI strategy that aligns with Webflow’s business goals and technological roadmap.
- Team Building: Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of AI professionals, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Product, Engineering, Design, and Business teams to identify opportunities for AI integration and ensure seamless implementation.
- Innovation and Research: Stay abreast of the latest AI trends and technologies, evaluating their applicability to Webflow’s needs and driving innovation through research and experimentation.
- Operational Excellence: Implement best practices for AI development and deployment, ensuring scalability, reliability, and ethical considerations are at the forefront.
- Performance Monitoring: Establish metrics to assess the impact of AI initiatives, using data-driven insights to refine strategies and demonstrate.
In addition to the responsibilities outlined above, at Webflow we will support you in identifying where your interests and development opportunities lie and we'll help you incorporate them into your role.
Your qualifications and skills:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years in AI/ML roles, with at least 3 years in a leadership position overseeing AI initiatives.
- Proficiency in machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch), data analysis tools, and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP).
- Demonstrated ability to align AI strategies with business objectives and drive organizational change.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts to diverse audiences.
- Strong understanding of AI ethics, data privacy, and compliance standards.
- Experience in SaaS or technology-driven companies, particularly in roles focused on internal tool development and optimization.
- Relevant certifications in AI/ML or project management (e.g., PMP, Scrum Master).
- Contributions to AI research through publications, patents, or conference presentations.
