Pinterest is looking for a seasoned Director, Design Program Management (DPM) to play a key role in expanding our Design Program Management organization. In this role, you will lead teams responsible for managing complex business programs and shaping our technical strategy to deliver scalable solutions. What you’ll do:
- Lead, grow and manage a team of Design Program Managers (DPMs), providing leadership and guidance to ensure successful navigation through ambiguity and achieving measurable program execution
- Proactively identifying resource gaps and misaligned priorities; in partnership with the VP of Design and Design Leadership secure funding and reprioritize allocation across the team
- Collaborate with Design, product management, engineering, and cross-functional partners to contribute to the product and technology strategy
- Define and manage the operating rhythms for the Design team including execution, business and launch reviews
- Engage with a stakeholder across engineering, product and Design at all levels, establishing and maintaining trusted connections
- Mentor and build a high-performing program management team, focusing on growing managers and nurturing talent
What we’re looking for:
- 10+ years of experience with building and managing a team of Design Program Managers and leading large-scale or complex technical initiatives
- Bachelor’s degree in design, business administration a related field or equivalent experience
- Deep understanding of design process, specifically for software development; experience with ML or AI technologies a plus
- Proven track record of delivering complex infrastructure projects on time and within budget
- Proven communication and interpersonal skills, including relationship building and collaboration within a multi-disciplinary, cross-functional team
- Capable of building credibility and fostering connections with senior executives and team members
- Skilled in fostering organizational growth and cultivating a team-oriented atmosphere
- Knowledge of software development processes and best practices

- We let the type of work you do guide the collaboration style. That means we're not always working in an office, but we continue to gather for key moments of collaboration and connection.
- This role will need to be in the office for in-person collaboration 1-2 times every 6 months and therefore can be situated anywhere in the country.
