About the Role:

We are looking for a Director of Data Platform & Analytics to serve as a critical leader within our data organization. You will be responsible for leading the teams that deliver high quality insights and curated data to the entire org. Your team will own our analytics data layer and self-serve BI tooling (Looker & Mixpanel) as well as the data platform infrastructure (Redshift, DBT, ML lifecycle pipeline) to ensure that our data stack works end to end.

  • Set the long-term technical direction for Data Platform & Analytics at Honor, such as establishing standards for transforming and curating data via dbt, and ensuring that our self-serve BI & data visualization tooling strategy enables data practitioners and business users to understand the health of the business.
  • Define the strategy for how Honor approaches self-serve analytics and generation of insights, working cross functionally to ensure key stakeholders across the business have the tools and trainings to use data successful
  • Manage the Data Analytics and Data Platform teams, including day to day execution and long term planning. You will partner with business stakeholders to understand each team’s data needs, prioritize them for impact, and coordinate the development of infrastructure or execution on deep-dive ad-hoc analyses that enable a data-driven culture.
  • Oversee the design and implementation of data models that ingest and store raw data, transform into relevant information that can be used by Data Scientists, Analysts, and the business via SQL or self-service no-code tools (Looker)
  • Work with recruiting to source qualified data candidates, improve our interview process, and make great hires to continue scaling the team.

About you:

  • 8-10+ years experience in a related field (business intelligence, analytics, data warehousing, platform engineering), with 3+ years experience in cross-functional data management roles
  • Proven track record implementing and owning self-serve analytics platforms (e.g. Looker, Tableau, PowerBI) and/or modern data architecture, data modeling and data warehouse design
  • Deep knowledge of industry best practices in self-serve analytics, analytics engineering, platform engineering and data governance.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills across multiple audiences, as well as demonstrated ability to manage business stakeholder relationships
  • Experience managing data practitioners, including definition of team processes, responsibilities and expectations. A high level of organization and the ability to prioritize tasks and keep projects on schedule.
  • A bias towards action and an iterative approach to problem-solving. Not afraid to roll up your sleeves and get into the data to answer a question.
  • Experience supporting operations and logistics workflows using growth-stage technologies, with a focus on scalability, efficiency, and systems integration
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business, Engineering or related field, or equivalent training, fellowship, or work experience.

Safe Remote Job Search Tips

Verify Employer Thoroughly

Research the company's identity thoroughly before applying. Check for a professional website with contacts, active social media, and LinkedIn profiles. Verify details across platforms and look for reviews on Glassdoor or Trustpilot to confirm legitimacy.

Never Pay to Get a Job

Legitimate employers never require payment for applications, training, background checks, or equipment. Always reject upfront payment requests or demands for bank details, even if they claim it's for purchasing necessary work gear on your behalf.

Safeguard Your Personal Information

Protect sensitive data like SSN, bank details, or ID copies. Share this only after accepting a formal, written job offer. Ensure it's submitted via a secure company system or portal, never through insecure channels like standard email attachments.

Scrutinize Communication & Interviews

Watch for communication red flags: poor grammar, generic emails (@gmail), vague details, or undue pressure. Be highly suspicious of interviews held only via text or chat apps; legitimate companies typically use video or phone calls.

Beware of Unrealistic Offers

If an offer's salary or benefits seem unrealistically high for the work involved, be cautious. Research standard pay for similar roles. Offers that appear 'too good to be true' are often scams designed to lure you into providing information or payment.

Insist on a Formal Contract

Always secure and review a formal, written job offer or employment contract before starting work or sharing final personal details. Ensure it clearly defines your role, compensation, key terms, and conditions to avoid misunderstandings or scams.
