The Role
Carrot is seeking a Director of Product Marketing to lead our Product Marketing function. Reporting to the VP of Marketing, this role will manage three Product Marketing Managers and a project manager and serve as the key voice for Product Marketing in cross-functional meetings. The Director will play a critical role in shaping Carrot’s go-to-market strategy, elevating our messaging, and ensuring that our Product Marketing efforts drive measurable impact. The Team
This role sits on our Marketing team, reporting to our VP of Marketing. The Marketing team consists of experts across Events, Design, Product Marketing, Communications and Content, and Demand Generation. Carrot’s Marketing team is responsible for sharing the Carrot story with the world.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of three PMMs, providing guidance, removing roadblocks, and empowering them to take ownership of key initiatives
- Serve as a key editor for direct reports and others at Carrot, ensuring clear, compelling, and strategic messaging across all Product Marketing deliverables
- Own core product messaging, brand voice, top-of-funnel positioning and the handoff to cross-functional partners
- Drive broader organizational efforts around culture, work, and values, fostering a high-performing and motivated team
- Establish and track OKRs for the Product Marketing team, ensuring alignment with overall marketing and company goals
- Lead cross-functional projects, working closely with Product, Sales, Customer Success, and other teams to drive adoption, retention, and revenue growth
- Set and refine Carrot’s Product Marketing strategy on a bi-annual basis, in collaboration with relevant teams
- Proactively share team accomplishments and key insights with leadership, championing the impact of Product Marketing across the company
- Partner with leadership on annual and ad hoc headcount planning, advocating for necessary resources and securing budget
- Champion change and innovation, gaining buy-in from stakeholders and building consensus across teams
- Build strong relationships across departments, facilitating collaboration and proactively managing stakeholder expectations
- Develop frameworks for cross-functional alignment, ensuring clear communication, shared goals, and streamlined decision-making
- Contribute to Carrot’s broader marketing strategy, ensuring our Product Marketing approach stays competitive in domestic and international markets
Minimum Qualifications:
- Proven experience in Product Marketing, with prior experience managing and mentoring a team
- Experience in healthcare and/or workplace benefits
- Strong strategic thinking and ability to drive cross-functional collaboration and alignment
- Experience in B2B, with strong collaboration with Enablement teams
- Exceptional communication and editing skills, with a strong eye for messaging and positioning
- Ability to set and measure goals, track success metrics, and drive continuous improvement
- Experience leading complex projects and influencing stakeholders across various functions
- A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with a passion for fostering team growth and success
- Excellent organizational and project management skills and ability to meet deadlines
- Comfort with the ambiguity inherent in a fast-paced startup environment
- Strong knowledge and understanding of current trends in healthcare
Compensation:
Carrot offers a holistic Total Rewards package designed to support our employees in all aspects of their life inside and outside of work, including health and wellness benefits, retirement savings plans, short- and long-term incentives, parental leave, family-forming assistance, and a competitive compensation package. The starting base salary for this position will range from $165,000- $185,000. Actual compensation may vary from posted base salary depending on your confirmed job-related skills and experience.
