About the team

Are you an engineering manager who loves to build great developer experiences and great technology? Angi® is looking for a manager to work with our infrastructure team, a group focused on empowering developers with efficient and reliable tools and systems.

Our team blends operational excellence with software engineering, leveraging principles and automation to enhance developer workflows. You will shape our infrastructure's interaction with development and build the foundation our development teams rely on for rapid, reliable product delivery. You'll instill best practices for creating scalable, developer-friendly systems with a focus on self-service capabilities and intuitive interfaces.

What you’ll do

  • Build and lead a team of engineers focused on developer enablement through recruiting, mentoring, and skill development
  • Build dashboards and metrics to monitor developer tool usage and identify areas for improvement
  • Drive the adoption of self-service infrastructure tools and documentation
  • Manage and improve the interaction between developers and infrastructure through Terraform, Kubernetes, and other technologies
  • Use a data-driven approach to understand developer pain points and prioritize improvements
  • Design, build, and maintain tools and services that enhance the developer experience with Angi's infrastructure
  • Plan and shape the future of developer tooling within Angi's infrastructure
  • Be part of an on-call rotation to support developers with infrastructure-related issues

Who you are

  • You have a BS or an MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cyber Security, Information Systems, or a related IT field
  • You have 8+ years of experience as an engineer
  • You have experience in a professional leadership role
  • You have a strong understanding of Kubernetes and containerization technologies and understand how to make these tools accessible and efficient for developers
    • Experience working with/building custom Kubernetes operators/controllers highly preferred
  • You have a broad understanding of infrastructure and application stacks (AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, Golang programming, etc.) and how they impact the developer experience
  • You have a track record of automating tasks and improving developer workflows through tooling and integrations
    • You appreciate software engineering best practices and advocate for developer-centric solutions
    • You are passionate about developer productivity and strive to simplify complex infrastructure interactions
    • You understand that enabling developers is your primary goal
  • You value excellent communication and remote-friendly working practices
    • You know how to choose the right communication tool and understand how to tailor communication to diverse technical audiences
  • You understand methodologies like Agile and Lean and believe in continuous improvement of developer workflows and tooling
  • You have an interest in understanding developer needs, gathering feedback, and iterating on tools and processes
  • You want to create a seamless and positive developer experience

Compensation & Benefits

  • The salary band for this position ranges $210,000 - $265,000 commensurate with experience and performance. Compensation may vary based on factors such as cost of living.
  • This position will be eligible for a competitive year end performance bonus & equity package.
