The Measurement User Match team enables a performant ads marketplace and helps prove the value to advertisers by connecting Pinterest onsite activity with conversions that happen offsite (both digital and physical) in a privacy-preserving way. As the Engineering Manager for Measurement User Match, you will lead a talented and growing engineering team responsible for evolving the user match capability, leverage state-of-the-art matching algorithms, big data processing and ML technologies to improve the coverage, accuracy and resilience of conversion signals.
What you’ll do:
- Attract, hire, mentor, and inspire a diverse team of exceptional engineers. Cultivate a collaborative and inclusive environment where everyone thrives.
- Lead the team to build large scale and mission critical services and data pipelines for matching users of conversion events, with data accuracy guarantees and near real time latency.
- Innovate deterministic and probabilistic(ML based) algorithms to improve the conversion’s user match rate and data quality. Tackle privacy headwinds and protect the visibility of identifiable conversions.
- Establish and maintain a high standard for technical excellence and production quality. Ensure your team delivers reliable and extensible solutions that adhere to Pinterest’s engineering principles.
- Work closely with product managers, data scientists, tech leads and other team members to comprehend business requirements and convert them into technical solutions.
What we’re looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, a related field or equivalent experience
- 2+ years of experience as an engineering manager or technical lead.
- 5+ years of relevant industry experience in designing large scale production systems, as a hands on software engineer.
- Experience leading a team of engineers through a significant feature or product launch.
- Strong mentorship and coaching abilities.
- Knowledge with at least one state-of-art programming language (Java, C++, Python), distributed systems and big data processing (Flink, Spark, Kafka, Hive etc).
- Strong data analytical and problem-solving skills.
- (nice to have) Experience with identity graph, ads measurement, conversion signals.
In-Office Requirement Statement:
- We let the type of work you do guide the collaboration style. That means we're not always working in an office, but we continue to gather for key moments of collaboration and connection.
- This role will need to be in the office for in-person collaboration 1-2 times/quarter and therefore can be situated anywhere in the country.
