The SPACE (Security, Privacy and Corporate Engineering) Software Product team develops and maintains a set of mission critical, highly performant, and highly scalable systems that manage user data privacy, security and corporate engineering products for all of our millions of daily users and backend services.

Some of our present and future responsibilities include:

  • Building systems around security, privacy or infrastructure to meet the needs of Reddit’s engineering organization and millions of daily users.
  • Design, build and ship backend services powering experiences for one of the most visited sites in the world.
  • Work with product management, security, client engineering, and backend teams to define and implement Reddit’s Security, Privacy and Corporate Engineering vision.

What You’ll Do:

  • Develop, drive and execute a long term vision and strategy for Security, Privacy and Corporate Engineering products and infrastructure to be leveraged by all of Reddit’s products.
  • Provide mentorship and growth opportunities for team members to evolve in their roles at a company scale.
  • Coordinate across product and engineering teams to understand and widely socialize Reddit’s core service priorities across all of our products.
  • Deliver and maintain a long term roadmap for core service capabilities and supported/recommended interfaces for development.
  • Set and support a culture of metrics driven quality, with efficient processes and strong transparency.

Role Requirements:

  • 5+ years experience in managing a team of software and infrastructure engineers.
  • 10+ years of experience developing Internet-scale software, preferably in backend roles
  • Professional experience and capability with scaled, high rate platform services for security and privacy products and API design
  • A strong track record of managing a team, including hiring, onboarding, and professional development.
  • Strong organizational skills, the ability to prioritize tasks and keep projects on schedule.

Pay Transparency:

This job posting may span more than one career level.

In addition to base salary, this job is eligible to receive equity in the form of restricted stock units, and depending on the position offered, it may also be eligible to receive a commission. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including, skills, depth of work experience and relevant licenses/credentials, and may vary from the amounts listed below.

The base pay range for this position is:
$217,000$303,900 USD
