Job Description
Harbor is looking for an Entry-level Solution Developer to join our growing team. The Junior Solution Developer is responsible for assisting customers with specification, design, development and implementation of custom solutions on financial system software. The role requires a background of development languages, databases and technologies. This is a full-time position with the preference of the candidate working hybrid from our Belfast (UK) office or Moncton (Canada) office. We are also open to remote employees working in the UK or Canada.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Involvement in architectural, database and user experience design for delivering client custom solutions including integrations and process customizations.
- Producing robust code from specifications and designs
- Develop, test, and implement custom solutions with a variety of systems including Elite 3E, Aderant, Microsoft SQL Server Systems, flat files, XML files, and APIs on behalf of clients within the scope of pre-determined budget and schedule.
- Design and develop data mappings to move data from multiple sources into a common target area.
- Develop, test, and implement integrations based upon pre-determined specifications using standard integration technologies such as REST, ODATA, SOAP, (S)FTP, HTTP(S), JSON, and XML.
- Perform maintenance activities for our client integrations, including troubleshooting and resolving issues.
- Work closely with clients to roll out new software solutions and upgrade existing on-premise solutions to the cloud.
- Strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills with ability to interact with individuals at all levels.
- Consistently maintain 80-90% of time spent on client-billable projects.
- Provide input as to developing technology trends on integration software solutions that are used to deliver customer solutions.
Note: While it may be useful to have worked in the professional services sector, it is not essential. What is essential is a passion for high quality development work allied with the skills necessary to ensure that it is delivered consistently to exceed our clients’ expectations.
Education and Experience:
- Degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of experience and education
- Experience writing Microsoft SQL Server queries (advanced proficiency) and stored procedures with a solid understanding of relational database structure and normalization
- Extended knowledge of the technical aspects behind data extraction and integration, including REST, ODATA, SOAP, (S)FTP, HTTP(S), JSON, and XML
- .NET framework development experience
- Familiar with PowerShell or other scripting languages
- Understanding of Power Automate or other low code workflow platforms.
- Familiar with coding in Angular using a variety of libraries including Telerik.
- Practical experience with DevOps
- Familiar with Professional Service financial systems and accounting principles
- Ability to learn new tools, languages, and operating systems with some training and on-the-job experience.
- Update skills as necessary to maintain proficiency with business opportunities.
- Excellent English language verbal and written communication skills
- Good organisational and analytical skills with an attention to detail
- High moral and professional standards
- Flexibility to switch between projects according to business priorities.
