Job Description:

We are seeking an Export Controls Counsel with experience in ITAR to join our Aerospace and Defense team. In this role, you will provide legal guidance related to export investigations, classification, and disclosures. This is an exciting opportunity to work with leading aerospace and defense clients on critical compliance issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Drafting, reviewing, and submitting voluntary disclosures and investigative findings related to ITAR violations.
  • Providing legal counsel on export licensing, classification, and compliance under ITAR and EAR.
  • Advising on technology transfer risks, including software and technical data.
  • Collaborating with clients on internal investigations and proactive compliance strategies.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of legal experience with ITAR/EAR regulations, ideally in the aerospace and defense industry.
  • Hands-on experience with voluntary disclosures and export-related investigations.
  • Excellent communication, analysis, and problem-solving skills.
  • Juris Doctor or equivalent preferred; non-licensed attorneys may also be considered.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience advising clients on encryption, defense articles, and technical data sharing.
  • Familiarity with OFAC and BIS regulations a plus.
  • Background in government or contractor compliance highly valued.

Compensation, Benefits & Location:

This role offers a range of competitive compensation starting at $130,000 and a highly competitive benefits package in the alternative legal services marketplace that includes health benefits, 401K and more. Axiomites predominately work remotely, with the exception that some clients require on-site presence.
