⭐️Our FinCrime Assurance team

At Monzo, we're building a bank that is fair, transparent and a delight to use. We’re growing extremely fast and have over five million customers in the UK, with over 100,000 new people joining every month.

We’re looking for a proactive, organised and conscientious FinCrime Assurance Analyst (Data Specialist) to join our existing FinCrime Assurance team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference, protecting our customers and the market from criminals.

You’ll need to have good SQL skills, knowledge of statistics and an ability to understand basic coding. Knowledge of bigquery and google forms is highly desirable.

You will also work closely with the Monzo Data Science team, who support us for more complex data tasks. Good knowledge of Financial Crime and/or Fraud is also beneficial.

The FinCrime Assurance team is responsible for assessing the effectiveness of Monzo’s Financial Crime controls, ensuring that we meet our own internal high standards and regulatory expectations.

🔑You’ll play a key role by

You will work with team members and other Monzo stakeholders to create and maintain fundamental assurance infrastructure, such as Quality Assurance assessment forms, sampling tools, trackers, dashboards and performance metrics.

You will lead on monitoring QA data, ensuring that our processes and systems are operating as efficiently as possible and resolving inefficiencies when they are identified.

You will also support the Assurance team in analysing financial crime and fraud QA data, to determine trends and patterns, supporting the bank in our continuous improvement objectives.

You’ll spend your time:

  • Developing and maintaining FinCrime QA assessment forms, sampling tools, trackers, dashboards and systems, so that they are scalable and effective.
  • Identifying and rolling out opportunities to improve and automate our processes.
  • Building metrics and dashboards to assist the review of QA results, to determine what errors are occurring and propose actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Determining key testable requirements from FinCrime and Fraud documents and incorporating those tests into QA forms, which will be used by the FinCrime and Fraud QA assessment team for their assurance work.
  • Supporting the FinCrime Assurance Lead to deliver consistent, compliant and outcome focussed QA reviews, and provide assurance against Key Risk Indicators across FinCrime.
  • Using QA insights to identify practical actions that improve FinCrime quality in Monzo.
  • Driving improvements of processes, procedures and knowledge management.
  • Delivering timely customer centric feedback to control owners and managers.

🤩 We’d love to hear from you if

Essential:

  • You have good SQL knowledge and can understand basic coding;
  • You have good knowledge of statistics and how to interpret them;
  • You are able to build dashboards and MI information;
  • You are comfortable in developing data capture forms and datasets;
  • You are comfortable owning data problems end-to-end, from identification to resolution;
  • You have experience of analysing data to identify issues and drive improvements;
  • You are confident in using data to back up decisions and improve understanding;
  • You have a strong attention to detail and analytical skills;
  • You can provide constructive feedback to enable personal growth and development.

Desirable:

  • You have a degree, experience or equivalent in a data analysis field;
  • You have a background in Financial Crime, with a sound knowledge of regulatory requirements;
  • Experience or knowledge in G Suite API and BigQuery;
  • Capable of using Looker to generate MI;
  • Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills, and ability to challenge others, as well as having exposure to senior management;
  • Experience in a QA related role;
  • Knowledge and experience of implementing FCA principles & Treating Customers Fairly.
