Shift5 is seeking a Forward Deployed Software Engineer (Delta) to join our growing Value Engineering team. In this role, your primary responsibility will be interfacing with customers regularly, helping them to get the most out of Shift5's existing product suite and continuously iterating on new ways to improve the customer experience.
You will be expected to travel to customer sites regularly, up to 40% in the U.S. will be required in the role. An active US Government TS clearance (and willingness to maintain one) or an ability to obtain one is also required.
The Role:
- Problem Decomposition - The decomp facet is all about independently coming up with solutions to nebulous, complex problems while optimizing on the team's efficiency. With respect to Deltas, this means a candidate is able to take an ill-defined software engineering problem and quickly churn out a usable, reliable, and properly scoped product that fits the customer's needs.
- Technical - Generally exceptional technical skills. Understands that technology is a tool to solve problems, and wants to solve problems, constantly. Generative mindset - sees a problem and does something about it.
- Communication - Must be able to connect with the customer be it someone in IT or a CIO. Must be curious. Strong convictions, weakly held. Must be able to deal with tough situations and conflict.
- Mission Driven - Wants to work on hard problems. Self-starter - Act as mini-CTO of their deployment

- Base Salary: $100,000-$150,000
