Job Description

As PandaDoc's Head of Design for our Quote to Cash initiatives, you'll lead our design vision and strategy while managing a team of skilled designers, all in service of helping small businesses get paid faster. Our Quote to Cash design team focuses on streamlining the entire revenue workflow—from initial quote creation to final payment collection—ensuring every touchpoint is intuitive, efficient, and delightful.

We're looking for a leader who'll hire, retain, and develop a group of skilled designers from diverse disciplines and backgrounds. You'll define our Quote to Cash design strategy by deeply understanding the pain points small businesses face in their revenue processes and championing solutions that remove friction at every step. As a key member of our design leadership team, you'll help build a best-in-class design organization while serving as a respected partner to your Product and Engineering counterparts.

This role requires a mix of business acumen, customer empathy, strategic thinking, and well-honed design chops. You'll be an active thinker, able to clearly communicate your position, ready and able to defend your point of view, and find the best solution with your teammates. You have successful experience leading a team — and you'll be excited to do it again with us at PandaDoc.

You'll be responsible for driving both outstanding user experiences and PandaDoc business goals by delivering best-in-class UX that accelerates revenue workflows and reduces time-to-payment for our customers. You'll design solutions that intuitively leverage AI to automate manual processes, eliminate bottlenecks, and create seamless handoffs throughout the quote-to-cash journey.

In this role, you will:

Lead design initiatives that streamline revenue workflows. You'll work alongside the product and engineering leadership team as a respected partner. You'll take a customer-centric approach to bridge the gap between revenue process challenges, user needs, and technical execution. You'll champion solutions that help small businesses close deals faster and get paid sooner.

Provide mentorship to the Quote to Cash design team. You'll be fully responsible for pushing your team's growth and development, as well as maintaining its high performance. This includes organizational design, hiring, establishing team culture and design processes, and coordinating design reviews.

Design execution. You'll need to be able to dive deeply into product design, workflow optimization, and revenue process understanding. You'll design experiences that intuitively leverage AI to automate tedious tasks and create intelligent workflows, always with the goal of reducing friction in the quote-to-cash process. You'll be ultimately responsible for the overall design quality and output of our Quote to Cash design team.

Work closely with other leaders and key team members. In addition to your Product and Engineering leadership counterparts, you'll collaborate with UX Research to understand revenue workflow pain points, our Revenue teams to understand user pain points, and engineers to build and ship solutions.

About you:

Minimum 7+ years of product design experience. You'll ideally come from a similar industry, working in B2B SaaS companies with a strong emphasis on design, customer success, and user retention.

Excellent leadership skills, with 3+ years experience as a people manager. You'll have a proven track record of hiring and mentoring employees, both in-person and remotely.

A strong view of what good design means. You'll be detail-conscious and able to clearly articulate to a variety of stakeholders what good design looks like. You'll gracefully balance bold product ideas with user satisfaction, and you'll recognize the value of data — and also be able to look beyond simple numbers.

A customer-centric mindset with a strong desire to improve user experience. You are deeply motivated by improving the lives of our users and making complex processes simple.

Communication, storytelling, and presentation skills that make your colleagues enjoy working with you. You’re able to communicate your ideas in a clear, compelling manner. You also have a strong ability to convince, influence, and inspire audiences on all levels.

The ability to flourish in a fast-paced environment with grace, good humor, and empathy. You’re comfortable with ambiguity and can roll with frequent change.

Safe Remote Job Search Tips

Verify Employer Thoroughly

Research the company's identity thoroughly before applying. Check for a professional website with contacts, active social media, and LinkedIn profiles. Verify details across platforms and look for reviews on Glassdoor or Trustpilot to confirm legitimacy.

Never Pay to Get a Job

Legitimate employers never require payment for applications, training, background checks, or equipment. Always reject upfront payment requests or demands for bank details, even if they claim it's for purchasing necessary work gear on your behalf.

Safeguard Your Personal Information

Protect sensitive data like SSN, bank details, or ID copies. Share this only after accepting a formal, written job offer. Ensure it's submitted via a secure company system or portal, never through insecure channels like standard email attachments.

Scrutinize Communication & Interviews

Watch for communication red flags: poor grammar, generic emails (@gmail), vague details, or undue pressure. Be highly suspicious of interviews held only via text or chat apps; legitimate companies typically use video or phone calls.

Beware of Unrealistic Offers

If an offer's salary or benefits seem unrealistically high for the work involved, be cautious. Research standard pay for similar roles. Offers that appear 'too good to be true' are often scams designed to lure you into providing information or payment.

Insist on a Formal Contract

Always secure and review a formal, written job offer or employment contract before starting work or sharing final personal details. Ensure it clearly defines your role, compensation, key terms, and conditions to avoid misunderstandings or scams.
