What’s the opportunity?
The mission of the Payments Performance vertical is to design, develop, and optimize advanced decision-making systems that ensure real-time transaction efficiency and security while maximizing conversion rate. Your teams will build world-class platforms encompassing Fraud Prevention, Smart Routing, Payment Optimization, Transaction Scoring, Anti-Money Laundering evaluations, and Real-time Anomaly Detection, leveraging advanced Data Science, ML Ops, and robust engineering practices. These systems directly impact key business metrics, including conversion rates and transaction success.
As Head of Engineering - Payments Performance, you will strategically guide Engineering Managers, Engineering Leaders, Architects, and Technical Leaders to execute ambitious product visions with precision, reliability, and scalability.You will also need to hire top talent, grow teams and inspire your vertical members.
- Leading, mentoring, and inspiring multiple high-performing engineering teams.
- Driving the development of scalable, highly available, and low-latency systems that enable real-time decision-making and maximize conversion rate.
- Championing a culture of innovation, collaboration, and technical excellence.
- Developing and executing strategic technology roadmaps that align with business objectives, in close partnership with product leadership.
- Staying at the forefront of industry trends, particularly in data-intensive applications with heavy usage of machine learning, and fintech innovations.
- Ensuring the seamless integration of advanced analytics and machine learning solutions across various business areas.
- Spearheading hiring strategies to attract top talent in engineering roles.
- Overseeing the continuous evolution of architecture for data-intensive systems that process large volumes of data in both batch and streaming contexts.
- Advocating for and implementing best practices in coding, data governance, quality assurance, and system observability.
- 5+ years of experience leading software engineering teams, with at least 3 years managing other leaders.
- Experience working with Machine Learning and data services.
- Experience managing large-scale engineering teams (40+ engineers and managers).
- Proven track record in fintech or related industries, developing high-volume transaction systems with stringent performance requirements.
- Solid understanding of Data Engineering, including batch and streaming data processing.
- Expertise in designing architectures for systems demanding high availability, low latency, and significant data throughput.
- Passionate leader with excellent communication, strategic thinking, and collaboration skills.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related technical fields.
- Technical proficiency to align business needs with scalable, cost-efficient, and resilient technical solutions.
- Experience recruiting, developing, and retaining high-performing talent.
- Strong familiarity with cloud-based microservices, real-time analytics, and decision-making systems.
- Ability to clearly communicate complex technical concepts to stakeholders across different areas.
