About the team & role:

We're looking for a Head of Product to join the team behind theXero Accounting App (XAA)– our flagship mobile experience that helps small business owners stay on top of their finances, wherever they are. You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of mobile accounting at Xero, partnering with cross-functional leaders across design, product, and engineering to drive high-quality outcomes.


This is a strategic leadership role where you’ll push the boundaries for what we can do for our customers. You'll have an inherent curiosity and interest on how AI can shape mobile experiences for our customers. You’ll shape key product initiatives and drive successful outcomes in the mobile space. You’ll bring strong experience in people leadership where you’ll lead a driven, high-performing team in ANZ and be comfortable working in a distributed global environment.



What you’ll do:
  • Be accountable for product management responsibilities at a product area level, connecting products to Xero’s strategy and objectives.
  • Develop trusting relationships and influence outcomes with senior stakeholders.
  • Lead product area responsibilities, including understanding the Xero landscape, defining customer vision, scope, and approach.
  • Develop and implement support strategies, de-risk assumptions, and create high-level concepts for future experiences.
  • Lead new or established leaders, effectively communicating and cascading information, providing guidance, coaching, and mentorship.
  • Manage team compliance, recruit high-quality team members, and role model exemplary leadership.
  • Continuously monitor product performance, nurture iterative product improvements, and manage product lifecycle.


What you'll bring with you:
  • Love customer problems: Lead user research, mentor problem definition, coach MVP/MLP creation, and support complex experiments.
  • Look to the future: Run education sessions on product/domain, mentor in developing compelling product strategies, and pilot new systems for innovative ideas especially around AI use cases and payments.
  • Work the Xero way: Lead courageous prioritization, refine PM ways of working, and design innovative release strategies.
  • Demonstrate commercial acumen: Develop new approaches to identify and size markets, validate product-market fit, and drive product decision-making aligned with strategic priorities.
  • Do it together: Expertly facilitate improvised conversations with senior stakeholders, articulate narratives to influence outcomes, and improve cross-functional processes.
  • Explore the data: Coach in new analytical approaches, teach translating information for different stakeholders, and collaborate to integrate information for insights.
  • Great People Leadership: Provide clarity, align and engage teams, and drive performance.
