Job Description

Translated is looking for a Hindi Language Expert,preferablybased inGurgaon or Bangalore (GMT+5.30), to support one of our top clients. This position is for an immediate start (ideally June 2025). Thesenior-level rolerequires collaboration with internal teams (engineering, marketing, product, and localization), key stakeholders, and local Indian market to ensure high-quality localization and a seamless user experience.

Contract Duration

This is acontract position with a 12-month commitment, renewable. The contractor isnot expected to work during official Indian bank holidays andon the client’s closure days.

Key Responsibilities

Stakeholder Collaboration

Act as theprimary point of contact for theHindi, Kannada, andMarathi locales, managing linguistic feedback from stakeholders and initiatives. Work closely with internal teams—including comms and business, engineering, marketing, product, and localization—to align on content strategies and ensure consistent voice and tone across all touchpoints. Support local market teams on regional projects and campaigns.

Localization Team Collaboration

Work with theLanguage Leads of Hindi, Kannada and Marathi to maintain brand identity and tone of voice across markets, leveraging shared resources such as glossaries and style guides. Provide ongoing feedback to support the client’s growth in India.

Continuous Quality Monitoring

Proofread major projects and user-first content such as the homepage and marketing communications. Perform ongoing QA on the client’s platforms, identifying localization and functional issues, and coordinating with engineering and product teams to triage and resolve bugs. Support with urgent translations or content creation as needed.

Basic Requirements

  • Native Hindi speaker
  • Fluent in English; fluency in Kannada and/or Marathior other Indian languages is not required but will be considered as a plus
  • Strong background inlocalization, preferably in a tech-driven or content-rich environment
  • Previous experience as aLanguage Manager, Localization Specialist, or in a similar leadership role
  • Experience working with global brands or enterprise-level localization programs is a strong plus
  • Demonstrated ability instakeholder management andquality reporting
  • Ability to align linguistic work with broader business goals and regional market strategies, advocating for language quality with non-linguistic stakeholders
  • Experience managingglossaries, style guides, and localization QA
  • Familiarity withUI/UX localization
  • Proficiency inCAT tools
  • University degree or equivalent experience intranslation, linguistics, orlocalization project management
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for cross-functional collaboration

Additional Information

  • Freelance contract (external contractor)
  • 30 hours per week, with possibility to scale up to 40 hours during high-demand periods.
  • 12-month commitment, renewable.
  • Remote position.The candidatemust beable to guarantee availability duringGMT +5.30 working hours,as well as a reasonable overlap with GMT +9.
  • Must attendweekly meetings in GMT +5.30 and GMT +9 and may be invited tooccasional meetings overlapping EMEIA and USA time zones (optional).
  • Not expected to work duringIndian bank holidays andClient closure days
Compensation is to be negotiated based on location and seniority level. Equipment provided.
