Job Description

TRM Labs is a blockchain intelligence company committed to fighting crime and creating a safer world. By leveraging blockchain data, threat intelligence, and advanced analytics, our products empower governments, financial institutions, and crypto businesses to combat illicit activity and global security threats. At TRM, you'll join a mission-driven, fast-paced team made up of experts in law enforcement, data science, engineering, and financial intelligence, tackling complex global challenges daily. Whether analyzing blockchain data, developing cutting-edge tools, or collaborating with global organizations, you'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful and lasting impact.

Position Summary: We are seeking a curious, driven, tech-savvy and proactive HR Analyst to join our growing Series B tech startup. This role will be responsible for building and maintaining dashboards, running data analyses, and implementing automation across People processes. It’s a great fit for someone with strong technical skills, a problem-solving mindset, and a passion for people data. You’ll work closely with Total Rewards, HRBPs, Talent, and other stakeholders to ensure data quality, build scalable tools, and surface insights that shape our People strategy. This is not a managerial role, but a critical specialist position within the People Analytics & Ops function.

The impact you will have:

  • Analyze People data (e.g., headcount, performance, engagement, attrition) to identify patterns, trends, and opportunities.
  • Build, improve, and maintain dashboards in Looker Studio and Google Sheets for various stakeholders across People.
  • Automate manual HR processes using tools like Google Apps Script, Python, or no-code platforms.
  • Audit data from systems like Greenhouse, Rippling, and Google Sheets Databases, ensuring quality and consistency.
  • Support performance and compensation cycles with data preparation, analysis, and reporting.
  • Collaborate with People Ops and cross-functional teams to implement scalable workflows

What we’re looking for:

  • HR Data Experience: 2–4 years working in People Analytics, People Ops, or similar HR data-heavy roles. Experience with HR systems like Rippling or Greenhouse is a plus.
  • Analytical Skills: Proven ability to work with messy data, find trends, and turn them into insights. Strong Excel/Sheets skills required.
  • Tech-Savvy Mindset: Experience automating workflows using Google Apps Script, Python, Zapier, or similar tools.
  • Visualization Skills: Proficiency in creating dashboards in Looker Studio, Tableau, or similar tools.
  • Detail-Oriented and Efficient: You enjoy making things simpler, cleaner, and more scalable. You spot inconsistencies and fix them.
  • Data Proficiency: Strong hands-on experience working with structured datasets. Ability to clean, transform, and analyze data using SQL and/or Google Sheets formulas is essential. Experience with data pipelines or scripting (e.g., Python) is highly valued.
  • Collaborative Communicator: Able to explain data and logic clearly to non-technical stakeholders. Comfortable working cross-functionally.

About the Team:

Our HR Operations team is a diverse group of professionals located across the US and LATAM, combining a mix of junior and senior talent. This blend of perspectives creates a collaborative, fast-learning environment where everyone has something to contribute and something to learn.

We value clarity and alignment, which is why we prioritize structured collaboration. We stay connected through daily standups, bi-weekly syncs with the broader People team, and monthly alignment meetings with HR and Talent. In between, we rely on detailed documentation, Slack, Loom, and email to work efficiently and transparently.

Our team culture is supportive, curious, and people-first. We take pride in being approachable, warm, and always willing to lend a hand. This is a great team for someone who thrives in collaborative spaces, values kindness, and is always looking to grow.

To complement this team, we’re looking for someone with strong communication skills, adaptability, and attention to detail—someone who brings a proactive, problem-solving mindset and a team-first attitude that enhances our inclusive, encouraging environment.

Learn about TRM Speed in this position:

  • Build a ‘Minimum Viable’ Dashboard (skateboard) in One Week: Instead of waiting to collect every single data input or stakeholder request, the specialist launches a first version of a dashboard in just a few days—focused on 80% of the value using the most critical metrics. This allows stakeholders to begin using the data immediately, and gives space to iterate based on real feedback rather than assumptions.
  • Conducting Fast, Actionable Analyses for Leadership: A request comes in on a Monday to understand attrition patterns among high performers. By Tuesday, the specialist delivers a clean, directional analysis highlighting key risk areas—without waiting for the “perfect” dataset. By acting fast, leadership gets early insights that shape immediate decisions, with a follow-up deep-dive planned once priorities are clear.
  • Automating Manual Processes Under Tight Deadlines: When a compensation cycle or performance review is approaching, the specialist proactively builds a lightweight automation (e.g., using Apps Script or Zapier) in just a few hours to eliminate a repetitive manual task—like data cleaning or email generation. Even if it's not the long-term solution, the quick win immediately reduces workload and errors while buying time for future refinement.

Safe Remote Job Search Tips

Verify Employer Thoroughly

Research the company's identity thoroughly before applying. Check for a professional website with contacts, active social media, and LinkedIn profiles. Verify details across platforms and look for reviews on Glassdoor or Trustpilot to confirm legitimacy.

Never Pay to Get a Job

Legitimate employers never require payment for applications, training, background checks, or equipment. Always reject upfront payment requests or demands for bank details, even if they claim it's for purchasing necessary work gear on your behalf.

Safeguard Your Personal Information

Protect sensitive data like SSN, bank details, or ID copies. Share this only after accepting a formal, written job offer. Ensure it's submitted via a secure company system or portal, never through insecure channels like standard email attachments.

Scrutinize Communication & Interviews

Watch for communication red flags: poor grammar, generic emails (@gmail), vague details, or undue pressure. Be highly suspicious of interviews held only via text or chat apps; legitimate companies typically use video or phone calls.

Beware of Unrealistic Offers

If an offer's salary or benefits seem unrealistically high for the work involved, be cautious. Research standard pay for similar roles. Offers that appear 'too good to be true' are often scams designed to lure you into providing information or payment.

Insist on a Formal Contract

Always secure and review a formal, written job offer or employment contract before starting work or sharing final personal details. Ensure it clearly defines your role, compensation, key terms, and conditions to avoid misunderstandings or scams.
