About the Role
We are seeking an International Tax Analyst to join our Income Tax team. You will assist primarily with the preparation of Instacart’s foreign income tax returns, transfer pricing documentation, and various areas of international tax planning. Resourcefulness is a must and a sense of humor is welcomed. This position will report to the Senior Manager, International Tax.

About the Job
Primary responsibilities for the International Tax Analyst
- Assist with preparation of international income tax returns, including foreign R&D credit studies, and oversee filings on a timely basis
- Assist with preparation of transfer pricing documentation
- Prepare monthly/quarterly transfer pricing calculations and record entries accordingly
- Identify opportunities to adopt AI throughout the international tax functional areas
- Liaise with external tax advisors
- Provide support for tax audits including the preparation of responses to inquiries from foreign tax authorities
- Support various cross functional efforts across the finance organization
- Support international tax planning opportunities, including research of relevant international tax laws, evaluation, and coordination with cross functional stakeholders
- Support tax provision team on international tax matters (GILTI, FDII, BEPS Pillar 2) on an as needed basis
Secondary responsibilities
- Conduct tax research to analyze the income tax implications of new tax legislations or new business initiatives, as needed
- Support Instacart’s treasury team with global cash management
- Support tax due diligence relating to mergers and acquisitions
- Assist with ad hoc requests and special projects as necessary
About You
Minimum qualifications
- Minimum of one year of related tax experience at a public company or public accounting firm (Big 4/ regional)
- Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance (or equivalent)
- Knowledge of income tax considerations for multinational corporations
- Proactive and resourceful team player with positive attitude and energy, close attention to detail
- Ability to work in a dynamic high-performance environment with strong willingness to learn and grow
- Excellent communication (verbal and written), financial and economic analysis skills
- A self-leading mentality, embracing new technology, and actively seeking opportunities to automate existing processes and gain efficiencies, demonstrated knowledge of Excel formulas and pivot tables (including lookups, index/match, sumif functions)
Preferred qualifications
- CPA/MS in Tax a plus
- Knowledge of Oracle ERP, Google Suite a plus
- Knowledge of provision for international income taxes under ASC740 a plus
