Job Description:
We are seeking a Technology Licensing Counsel with experience in IP transactions, licensing strategy, and Standard Essential Patents (SEP) and FRAND to join our growing legal network. This role is ideal for legal professionals with strong technical IP licensing backgrounds and direct experience advising on SEP frameworks, FRAND compliance, and standards-based IP monetization.
Responsibilities:

Structure, draft, and negotiate a wide range of technology and IP license agreements, including inbound, outbound, joint development, and standards-based licenses.

Advise clients on SEP licensing strategies and FRAND obligations, including participation in standard-setting organizations (SSOs).

Provide counsel on IP ownership, open-source licensing issues, patent pooling, and compliance risk in complex product ecosystems.

Support cross-border and multi-jurisdictional licensing initiatives, especially in telecom, AI, semiconductors, or connected devices sectors.

Collaborate with engineering, IP, and product teams to align licensing strategy with innovation and commercialization goals.

Assist with portfolio development, license audits, and royalty modeling as part of broader monetization and enforcement strategies.
Minimum Qualifications:

JD or equivalent, with active U.S. bar membership in good standing.

5–12 years of experience in technology/IP licensing, with proven work involving SEP and/or FRAND.

Background in electrical engineering, computer science, or a related technical field is preferred.

Strong experience negotiating complex licensing agreements and advising on cross-border IP issues.

Demonstrated ability to support business and legal teams on IP strategy in fast-paced, product-focused environments.
Preferred Skills:

Prior in-house counsel experience at a tech, telecom, semiconductor, or software company.

Familiarity with 5G/6G, AI, IoT, or communications infrastructure licensing landscapes.

Experience with patent pools, royalty rates, and license audits.

Willingness to support onsite engagements in California or Texas as needed.
Compensation, Benefits & Location:
This role offers a range of competitive compensation starting at $127,000, and a highly competitive benefits package in the alternative legal services marketplace that includes health benefits, 401k, and more. Axiomites predominately work remotely, with the exception that some clients require on-site presence.
