Korean Language Expert

Job Description

Translated is looking for an experiencedKorean Language Expert to work directly with one of our top clients in the digital space. This role requiresclose collaboration with internal teams (engineering, marketing, product, and localization), key stakeholders, and the local Korean market on the buyer side to ensure high-quality localization and a seamless user experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as the primary linguistic point of contact, working closely with internal teams, includingengineering, marketing, product, localizationto align on content localization and maintain a consistent voice and tone across all avenues. Work with thelocal market team to provide localization support for local initiatives.
  • Localization Team Collaboration: Liaise with theKorean Language Lead to refine and maintain the Korean voice using the approvedglossary and style guide. Leveragemarket expertise to provide feedback and contribute to the client’s growth and success in the Korean market.
  • Continuous Quality Monitoring: Proofreadmajor projects and first-touch experiences (e.g., homepage, marketing emails). Perform ongoingQA on the client’s site and native apps, identifyingfunctionality and localization issues and coordinating withengineering and product managers to report and triage bugs. Assist withurgent translations or content creation when needed.

Basic Requirements:

  • Native Korean speaker
  • Fluency in English is required
  • Solid experience in localization, preferably in a digital environment
  • Previous experience as aKorean Language Lead,Language Specialist, orLanguage Manager
  • Strong expertise inStakeholder managementandreporting
  • Previous experience in LQA, glossary,and style guide management
  • Experience inlocalization of UIand UX writing is preferential.
  • Stronginterpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Familiarity withCAT tools
  • University degree or relevant experience inmanagementortranslation

Additional Information:

  • Freelance contract (external contractor)
  • 35 to 40 hours per week
  • Remote position (expected to attend meetings inKST)
