About The Role
As aLead Data Engineer at Notabene, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping how crypto transactions are settled globally. You’ll collaborate with stakeholders across all levels of the business, turning their BI requirements into accessible, accurate, real-time reporting. You will maintain and continuously improve Notabene’s org-wide data management and analytics.
In this role, you'll be responsible for building and maintaining our data pipelines, scaling our data warehouse architecture, and ensuring data insights are optimized and scalable across the organization.
You’ll also be instrumental in driving forward a data-driven culture at Notabene and training / upskilling power-users across the organization. You’ll be working closely with key stakeholders across the business to understand their BI / reporting needs and will enable providing insights to inform strategic decisions both at the Board / Executive level and at the business unit level.
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL pipelines using technologies like dbt, Airbyte, Cube, DuckDB, Redshift, and Superset
- Work closely with stakeholders across the company to gather data requirements and setup dashboards
- Promote a data driven culture at Notabene and train, upskill power-users across the organization
- Ensure data governance and security practices are in place, especially around high-security PII data
- Monitor, optimize, and troubleshoot data infrastructure and pipelines to ensure performance and scalability
- 8+ years working in data engineering with large sets of data. Ex: millions of students, transactions.
- Proven experience in building and maintaining ETL pipelines and data infrastructure
- Strong experience working with dbt core/cloud
- Business savvy and capable of interfacing with finance, revenue and ops leaders to build our business intelligence
- Expertise in data governance, best practices, and data security, especially related to PII
- Proficiency in SQL and Python and with experience working in AWS
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a global, remote-first company
- Proficient self-starter and comfortable working with ambiguity
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and departments
- Experience in the crypto or fintech space is a huge plus.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity in a growth-stage environment.
