In the last few years weâve built a banking app with very high daily engagement and an NPS thatâs well above the norm. 10 million UK adults have a Monzo account already, but we have a global ambition and the opportunity to impact hundreds of millions of lives.
About the team
Core Banking is responsible for the current account used by 10 million customers. That includes creating compelling value propositions for different audiences (including Personal, Joint, Under 16s and 16 - 17 accounts), growing Subscriptions (Extra, Perks and Max), and optimising the overall app structure and experience to help customers get the most out of Monzo.
đWeâre now gearing up for our next phase of growth, from 10 million to 20 million customers. As we launch more and more financial products, and our customersâ financial lives become more complex, personalising the experience is a key priority.
What youâll be working on:
As a Lead Product Manager for Search & Recommendations, youâll lead one or more cross-functional teams to define and deliver a strategy that helps customers make the most of Monzo. Youâll help build the platform, capabilities and app structure needed to optimise a customerâs in-app experience and engagement.
That means youâll:
- Lead the charge: build a product vision and strategy for your area, ensuring alignment with Monzoâs goals and an exceptional customer experience.

- Collaborate seamlessly: partner with engineering, design, data, research, marketing and other teams across Monzo to create a strategy and deliver.
- Deliver impact: define, deliver and measure the impact of the customer-focused personalisation and discovery experiences you create.
You should apply if:

- You have a track record of leading consumer personalisation and discovery efforts (search or recommendation systems) that drive significant value for customers and the business.
- You're data-driven and commercial, and have a track record of collaborating with machine learning experts or data scientists to define key metrics, run experiments, and deliver business impact.
- You can systematically break down and solve complex problems.
- You have good judgement, and have a track record of making good decisions in complex situations where thereâs often no âright answerâ.
- You have the urge and resilience to challenge the status quo and make things better, and are full of creative ideas for how to do so.
- You can work effectively with a diverse range of people and working styles - spanning engineering, design, data, user research, marketing, legal and compliance - to get stuff done.
- Youâre a great storyteller, who is able to motivate, energise and inspire people towards a common goal.
- Youâre passionate about building value for customers and not just achieving business results, and are excited about our mission at Monzo.
- Youâre intellectually honest about your work's performance, continually striving for improvement.
- Youâre a fast learner, humble and curious, and enjoy learning every day and sharing your knowledge and experience.
- Youâve mentored other PMs, have the ability to coach others, and can provide clear and constructive feedback to your team and other disciplines.

Verify Employer Thoroughly
Research the company's identity thoroughly before applying. Check for a professional website with contacts, active social media, and LinkedIn profiles. Verify details across platforms and look for reviews on Glassdoor or Trustpilot to confirm legitimacy.
Never Pay to Get a Job
Legitimate employers never require payment for applications, training, background checks, or equipment. Always reject upfront payment requests or demands for bank details, even if they claim it's for purchasing necessary work gear on your behalf.
Safeguard Your Personal Information
Protect sensitive data like SSN, bank details, or ID copies. Share this only after accepting a formal, written job offer. Ensure it's submitted via a secure company system or portal, never through insecure channels like standard email attachments.
Scrutinize Communication & Interviews
Watch for communication red flags: poor grammar, generic emails (@gmail), vague details, or undue pressure. Be highly suspicious of interviews held only via text or chat apps; legitimate companies typically use video or phone calls.
Beware of Unrealistic Offers
If an offer's salary or benefits seem unrealistically high for the work involved, be cautious. Research standard pay for similar roles. Offers that appear 'too good to be true' are often scams designed to lure you into providing information or payment.
Insist on a Formal Contract
Always secure and review a formal, written job offer or employment contract before starting work or sharing final personal details. Ensure it clearly defines your role, compensation, key terms, and conditions to avoid misunderstandings or scams.
