About the Role:
Motive is experiencing remarkable growth, and we're looking for a hands-on Workday expert who thinks strategically about how HR systems can drive business success. As Manager, People Systems, you'll lead our Workday configuration and optimization while bringing a systems thinking approach to how we design and deliver HR services.
The "systems" in your title reflects our focus on understanding how people, processes, and technology work together. While your primary focus will be on Workday, you'll need to think holistically about how our HR systems support and enhance the way our workforce operates.

Your hands-on expertise combined with strategic thinking will help create efficient, scalable HR processes that enhance how our employees work. What You'll Do:
Workday Strategy
- Own the overall Workday roadmap and strategy, aligning system improvements with business priorities
- Establish best practices for system governance, security, and compliance
- Define priorities for system enhancements and new feature implementations
Cross-functional Partnership
- Partner with HR, Finance, IT, and business leaders to understand needs and translate them into practical Workday solutions
- Drive process optimization and automation through effective use of Workday capabilities
- Lead change management and user adoption initiatives
Technical Implementation & Operations
- Lead hands-on configuration and enhancement of Workday HCM modules
- Lead system troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex issues
- Design and implement integrations between Workday and other business systems
- Lead the development of custom reports and dashboards
- to support data-driven decision making
- Manage the full deployment cycle from testing to production
Team & Project Management
- Lead and mentor a team of HR systems professionals
- Manage multiple concurrent projects while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines
- Establish and maintain documentation for processes, configurations, and standard operating procedures
- Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance across HR systems
What We're Looking For:
- 6+ years of hands-on experience with Workday HCM, including system configuration, security setup, reporting and analytics
- Experience leading technical teams and managing complex projects
- Strong understanding of HR processes and how they translate into system requirements
- Experience with system integrations and data management
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Knowledge of data governance and security best practices
- Ability to balance hands-on technical work with strategic thinking
- Excellence in stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Clear communication skills, able to explain technical concepts to various audience
Pay Transparency
Your compensation may be based on several factors, including education, work experience, and certifications. For certain roles, total compensation may include restricted stock units.
