Job Description
Our client is an international media company and they are looking for a Media Product Manager to join their team. As a Media Product Manager, you will take ownership of the software tools that power global newsrooms, managing the full product lifecycle from planning to publishing. You’ll work on enhancing workflows, refining metadata management, and optimizing content distribution across digital platforms. Your responsibilities will also include training teams, developing clear documentation, and leading process innovation to ensure seamless media production of short-form videos, documentaries, and podcasts.
- Optimize newsroom workflows, streamlining planning, publishing, and metadata management processes.
- Refine metadata collection and usage to enhance content discoverability and consistency.
- Lead training and onboarding in Arabic and English, ensuring team adoption of best practices.
- Develop and maintain documentation for technical users and newsroom staff, ensuring clarity and ease of use.
- Collaborate cross-functionally, ensuring alignment between product, engineering, and editorial teams.
- Proactively engage with end users, incorporating feedback into product decisions to enhance newsroom efficiency.
- Balance strategic priorities and execution, ensuring sustainable growth and adoption of media products.
Qualifications
- Fluent in English.
- Strong Emotional Intelligence (EQ): Active listening, customer empathy, and effective relationship management.
- Media & Product Expertise: Experience with newsroom workflows, metadata management, and publishing tools
- Technical Acumen: Understanding of cloud-based media systems, API integrations, and content distribution platforms.
- Communication & Transparency: Ability to clearly articulate product vision, priorities, and decision-making rationale.
- User-Centered Design Knowledge: Familiarity with UCD principles, A/B testing, MVP frameworks, and iterative development.
- Independent & Agile Work Ethic: Self-motivated, able to work autonomously while engaging effectively in a remote, collaborative team.
Preferred Skills
- Newsroom experience, particularly as a writer or editor.
- Experience with Microsoft SharePoint, Airtable, Monday.com, or similar planning tools.
- Familiarity with LLM and prompt engineering.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
- Experience working in remote or distributed teams
Our recruitment process
- Recruiter interview (30 min)
- Two interviews with the client (30 minutes approximately each interview)
