ClassDojo

Monetization Growth Product Manager

Job Description

ClassDojo's goal is to give every child on Earth an education they love.

We started by building a powerful network for communication. ClassDojo’s flagship app is the #1 communication app connecting K-12 teachers, children, and families globally. Teachers use it to share what’s happening throughout the day through photos, videos, and messages that make parents feel like they’re there. It’s actively used in over 95% of US schools, reaching over 45 million children in 180 countries, with a team of just around 200 people [1]. We are now beginning to use this network to give kids the best learning experiences in the world, far beyond those a standard school can provide.

We hire for talent density. Our team comprises the most talented, entrepreneurial, and innovative teammates from around the world, with experience in education and large scale consumer internet companies, including Instagram, Netflix, Dropbox, Stripe, Uber, Y Combinator, and more. We’re building a company where the most talented people want to work. We believe you’ll do the best work of your life here—and you’ll pioneer the future of education, too.

What you’ll do:

As a Product Manager focused on monetization, you’ll own one of the most important growth levers for ClassDojo: building a consumer revenue engine that feels deeply aligned with user value. You’ll design and scale monetization experiences that millions of families choose to pay for—and love using. Working closely with design, engineering, data, and marketing, you’ll craft and iterate on high-quality experiments that drive both user delight and business impact. You’ll use a mix of research, behavioral insight, data, and intuition to shape our subscription experience, pricing, bundling, positioning, and conversion flows. You’ll operate with high autonomy and ownership, partnering directly with co-founders and product leaders to define and deliver on long-term strategy. This role is about going deep on product craft, working across disciplines to deliver creative, elegant solutions to user problems—then scaling them globally to support our mission of helping every child reach their full potential.

You will be a match if:

  • 5+ years of growth product management experience shipping high-quality, at-scale consumer products across at least two companies—one of which had >1M users and one that was not a late-stage company
  • Deep monetization experience: proven success driving revenue growth through creative, user-centric monetization strategies on consumer products
  • Strategic product thinker with exceptional product intuition—able to uncover user needs, generate insights, and craft novel product solutions that drive business impact
  • Experience working on complex consumer ecosystems such as social platforms, marketplaces, or similarly multi-sided products
  • Strong analytical mindset: comfortable exploring data, validating hypotheses, and shaping strategy using both qualitative and quantitative signals
  • Track record of high ambition and outsize business impact—able to thrive in fast-moving, resource-constrained environments
  • Excellent cross-functional leadership: collaborates effectively with engineering, design, data, marketing, and leadership to drive alignment and execution
  • Strong communication and storytelling skills, both written and verbal—able to clearly articulate product vision, strategy, and trade-offs

You might be a good fit if:

  • Experience leading monetization work in social or marketplace products
  • Background in both 0-to-1 and growth-stage product development; ideally has seen consumer products through multiple life stages
  • Experience growing consumer products in international markets
  • Strong track record of influence and leadership without authority; has coached or mentored other PMs
  • Experience working at a high-bar, product-driven company with a culture of excellence
  • Familiarity with pricing, payments infrastructure, or revenue optimization techniques
  • Demonstrated ability to act as a thought partner to execs on product and revenue strategy
  • Comfort navigating ambiguity and scaling efforts from scratch with autonomy and ownership

Safe Remote Job Search Tips

Verify Employer Thoroughly

Research the company's identity thoroughly before applying. Check for a professional website with contacts, active social media, and LinkedIn profiles. Verify details across platforms and look for reviews on Glassdoor or Trustpilot to confirm legitimacy.

Never Pay to Get a Job

Legitimate employers never require payment for applications, training, background checks, or equipment. Always reject upfront payment requests or demands for bank details, even if they claim it's for purchasing necessary work gear on your behalf.

Safeguard Your Personal Information

Protect sensitive data like SSN, bank details, or ID copies. Share this only after accepting a formal, written job offer. Ensure it's submitted via a secure company system or portal, never through insecure channels like standard email attachments.

Scrutinize Communication & Interviews

Watch for communication red flags: poor grammar, generic emails (@gmail), vague details, or undue pressure. Be highly suspicious of interviews held only via text or chat apps; legitimate companies typically use video or phone calls.

Beware of Unrealistic Offers

If an offer's salary or benefits seem unrealistically high for the work involved, be cautious. Research standard pay for similar roles. Offers that appear 'too good to be true' are often scams designed to lure you into providing information or payment.

Insist on a Formal Contract

Always secure and review a formal, written job offer or employment contract before starting work or sharing final personal details. Ensure it clearly defines your role, compensation, key terms, and conditions to avoid misunderstandings or scams.
