What’s the opportunity?
dLocal is seeking an experienced and driven Operations Manager to lead and optimize our Alternative Payment Methods (APMs) operations, including Pix, Boleto, and other local payment solutions. In this role, you will develop and execute strategies to enhance our payment capabilities, streamline processes, and ensure seamless operations across multiple markets. You will work closely with internal teams and external partners, leveraging data-driven insights to drive performance improvements and operational excellence.
- Develop and execute business strategies for alternative payment methods, considering country-specific structures, costs, and business capabilities.
- Identify and implement efficient processes, while continuously exploring opportunities for innovation and optimization.
- Oversee the successful integration and implementation of technology solutions across the organization.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with partners, local acquirers, and other stakeholders, leading negotiations when needed.
- Conducted comprehensive risk evaluations and led quality assurance initiatives to mitigate issues.
- Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess and enhance operational performance.
- Leverage your understanding of dLocal’s operations to proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve system/technical challenges.
- Work cross-functionally with teams across the company to provide essential data (e.g., transaction info, feedback from local providers), ensure the smooth resolution of client issues, and support local processes (e.g., audit, back office).
- Strong background in the payments industry with a focus on alternative payment methods.
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage and motivate teams effectively.
- In-depth knowledge of Pix (both direct and indirect participants), Boleto, and other relevant payment methods.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and ambiguous environment; adaptable and self-driven with a proactive mindset.
- Experience in managing operations across global teams and time zones.
- Proficiency in data analytics and reporting to make informed decisions and optimize processes.
- Strong command of SQL to facilitate data analysis and reporting.
- A solid understanding of various business functions, including legal, finance, product, and IT.
- Exceptional communication, reporting, and presentation skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Curiosity-driven with a positive, solution-oriented attitude.
- Outstanding organizational skills with the ability to juggle multiple projects and priorities under tight deadlines.
- Fluent in written and verbal English; any additional languages are a plus.
- Willingness and ability to travel as needed.
