The Role:
We’re looking for a tech-forward, systems-savvy guru to join our scaling team as a People Ops Manager. This role is ideal for someone who geeks out about process improvement, automation, and delivering a seamless employee experience—while also bringing hands-on experience managing benefits programs in a multi-state, remote-first environment.
This is a high-autonomy, individual contributor role, reporting to the Head of People. You’ll execute and optimize the core infrastructure that powers our People team: systems, compliance processes, vendor coordination, data hygiene, and knowledge management. You won’t just maintain systems – you'll continuously level them up. You’ll collaborate regularly with the People Ops Generalist in India as well as cross-functional partners in the U.S., including a Talent Partner, Finance, and IT.

What you'll do:
Benefits Program & Partnership Management
Oversee execution of U.S. benefits and leave programs (health & wellness, 401(k), HSA/FSA/DCA, LOA) in partnership with Sequoia, Betterment, Rippling, and Tilt; manage escalations and ensure smooth internal workflows.
Manage the lifecycle of key People Ops partners and platforms (Rippling, Sequoia, Tilt, Betterment).
Maintain SOPs, handbooks, and audit-ready documentation; ensure compliance across 30+ U.S. states in coordination with Rippling’s ASO
Support Open Enrollment and compliance filings (e.g., ACA, 5500) in collaboration with Sequoia
Partner cross-functionally with Finance, Legal, and IT on access controls, audits, and risk mitigation
Coordinate immigration workflows with external counsel and internal stakeholders
Systems, Automation & Knowledge Management
Own end-to-end execution of People Ops processes (i.e. US benefits admin, employee life-cycle).
Serve as Notion and SharePoint admin; maintain knowledge hubs and ensure documentation is up to date
Monitor and respond to inquiries from various POPs communication channels (i.e. slack, email).
Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and automate tasks across the People tech-stack .
Support tool evaluations and implementations, including AI-enabled platforms that boost operational efficiency.
People Analytics & Reporting
Deliver recurring and ad hoc reports (e.g. headcount, attrition, workforce demographics).
Build dashboards and reporting cadences for Finance, Talent, and executive leadership
Ensure data integrity across platforms and support insights that inform business decisions.
What you'll bring:
At least 5 years of People Ops experience, including 1+ year of direct benefits administration and experience in startups and scaling orgs. (We are currently 110 employees in the US and 30 in India.)
Experience operating in a remote-first companywithouta PEO is required.
Strong working knowledge of multi-state U.S. employment compliance (e.g. EEO-1, FLSA classification). We partner with Rippling for ASO but you’ll still drive execution.
Highly tech-savvy—you enjoy configuring tools, automating workflows, and integrating systems.
Advanced skills in Google Sheets/Excel (XLOOKUP, pivot tables, dashboards, data integrity).
Experience with systems like Rippling, Tilt, Sequoia and Notion – or ability to learn them quickly.
Proven project management and attention to documentation hygiene.
Excellent written communication and digital organization skills.
Experience working with distributed teams across different cultures and time zones.
Ability to apply a broad range of HR concepts to complex projects with minimal oversight—your work will be reviewed for soundness, not direction.
