Role Overview
Join Turing as our strategic and globally-minded People Operations Specialist to join our People team to help us deliver a seamless team member experience and support a strong, scalable people foundation. As a key member of our People team, you’ll own and improve processes and touchpoints across the employee lifecycle. You’ll ensure every team member—from new hire to alum—feels supported, informed, and valued.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and improve the employee lifecycle processes: onboarding, offboarding, and everything in between.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with IT, Finance, and hiring managers to ensure smooth employee transitions and system access.
- Work cross-functionally to send offer letters, conduct background checks, process I-9 verifications, and ensure access is issued.
- Manage workflows for documentation: offer letters, promotion letters, policy updates, and other official communications.
- Monitor compliance with country, state, and local employment laws and recommend updates to policies, reporting and procedures.
- Support performance management and employee development programs.
- Maintain accurate team member records.
- Serve as the first point of contact for team member inquiries related to HR policies, benefits, and workplace issues, escalating when appropriate.
Qualifications
- 2–4 years of experience in HR, People Ops, or a related role—ideally in a startup or tech environment.
- Familiarity with HRIS systems (HiBob a plus).
- Understanding of employment law and HR best practices.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and organized with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Empathetic, collaborative, and passionate about creating great team member experiences.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and fast-changing priorities in a startup environment.
- Experience supporting a distributed or remote-first team
