Job Description
PeopleOps Lead – Talent, Culture & People Programs
About XBOW
At XBOW, we’re redefining the future of cybersecurity by building the world’s first autonomous pentester, powered by AI. Today, the gold standard for securing software systems is human pentesters, but with the rise of artificial intelligence, we’re stepping up to scale offensive security to meet the ever-growing demand.
AI is transforming the landscape of both cybersecurity and cyberattacks. While millions of people without security expertise are creating software, bad actors are using AI to launch more effective attacks. XBOW fights back with AI-driven superpowers, enabling security teams to stay one step ahead.
Backed by Sequoia Capital and Altimeter, and a team that includes the creators of GitHub Copilot and GitHub Advanced Security, XBOW is not just keeping up with the times—we’re shaping the future of cybersecurity. Our mission is simple: to defeat the bad actors before they strike, using AI to revolutionize how we approach offensive security.
We’re building something that must be built, and we’re the team to do it. Join us in shaping the next frontier of autonomous security.
Your Role: PeopleOps Lead – Talent, Culture & People Programs
We’re looking for a thoughtful and strategic PeopleOps Lead to build and scale the programs, rituals, and systems that define the XBOW employee experience. You’ll own core People programs across talent operations, onboarding, employee lifecycle, compensation coordination, and team engagement.
This role is about building a people-first culture with strong operational foundations—helping every new hire ramp effectively, every manager lead confidently, and every employee feel supported and connected as we grow.
What You’ll Do
Talent Operations & Onboarding
Manage and continuously improve our recruiting operations and ATS workflows in partnership with hiring managers
Own the new hire experience from offer letter to onboarding and enablement—streamlining systems, documentation, and cross-functional handoffs
Track hiring plan progress, time-to-fill, candidate funnel health, and help keep the talent pipeline moving efficiently
Compensation, Benefits & Lifecycle
Support compensation benchmarking, leveling frameworks, and review cycles in partnership with BizOps and Finance
Lead open enrollment and employee education on benefits (e.g., 401k, health, wellness, leave policies)
Own key employee lifecycle processes including promotions, role changes, and internal communications
People Programs & Culture
Design and run programs that drive team engagement, including surveys, recognition, and offsite planning
Partner with leadership on developing core people programs: manager training, feedback cycles, and DEI
Own internal documentation for people processes and rituals in Notion, Slack, and HR systems
Who You Are
You have 4–6+ years of experience in PeopleOps or TalentOps roles at fast-paced startups
You’re proactive, systems-minded, and love building programs from scratch
You understand how to scale employee-facing processes without losing the human touch
You thrive in ambiguity, have strong writing skills, and can move easily between big-picture strategy and detail-oriented execution
You care deeply about building inclusive, high-trust cultures
What We Offer
Compensation & Equity: Competitive salary and equity package, making you a true owner of the company.
Career Growth: Shape your role and grow with the company as we redefine cybersecurity.
Meaningful Work: You’ll help build a people experience that supports one of the most ambitious technical teams in the world.
What Else You Should Know
Location: Remote US (all team members are remote but we meet regularly and you’re supported to travel to collaborate with colleagues in person)
Contract: Full-time
Hiring Process:
30-min introductory chat
60-min interview
Take-home exercise (~2 hours) with follow-up discussion
30-min final meeting with the CEO and Founder, Oege de Moor
We believe in people who are driven by curiosity and a willingness to learn. Even if you don’t check every box, we encourage you to apply if you’re excited about the role and our mission.
Safe Remote Job Search Tips
Verify Employer Thoroughly
Research the company's identity thoroughly before applying. Check for a professional website with contacts, active social media, and LinkedIn profiles. Verify details across platforms and look for reviews on Glassdoor or Trustpilot to confirm legitimacy.
Never Pay to Get a Job
Legitimate employers never require payment for applications, training, background checks, or equipment. Always reject upfront payment requests or demands for bank details, even if they claim it's for purchasing necessary work gear on your behalf.
Safeguard Your Personal Information
Protect sensitive data like SSN, bank details, or ID copies. Share this only after accepting a formal, written job offer. Ensure it's submitted via a secure company system or portal, never through insecure channels like standard email attachments.
Scrutinize Communication & Interviews
Watch for communication red flags: poor grammar, generic emails (@gmail), vague details, or undue pressure. Be highly suspicious of interviews held only via text or chat apps; legitimate companies typically use video or phone calls.
Beware of Unrealistic Offers
If an offer's salary or benefits seem unrealistically high for the work involved, be cautious. Research standard pay for similar roles. Offers that appear 'too good to be true' are often scams designed to lure you into providing information or payment.
Insist on a Formal Contract
Always secure and review a formal, written job offer or employment contract before starting work or sharing final personal details. Ensure it clearly defines your role, compensation, key terms, and conditions to avoid misunderstandings or scams.
