The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Microsoft Azure, managed services, cloud migration, security, disaster recovery, and hybrid cloud solutions.

The Pre-Sales Engineer will play a critical role in driving customer adoption of Azure-based solutions by engaging with clients, understanding their business challenges, and crafting solutions that align with their needs. This role requires both technical expertise and strong business acumen to effectively position our services to customers.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Architecture & Design:

  • Architect Azure-based solutions for cloud migrations, infrastructure modernization, disaster recovery, and managed services.
  • Design hybrid cloud architectures, including on-premises integrations and multi-cloud strategies.
  • Provide detailed technical documentation, including solution specifications, architecture diagrams, and best practices.
  • Stay up to date with Microsoft Azure services, best practices, and licensing models to recommend optimal solutions.

Technical Presentations & Customer Engagement:

  • Deliver technical presentations and demonstrations to prospects and customers, effectively communicating solution benefits.
  • Conduct customer workshops and discovery sessions to assess business needs and align with Azure capabilities.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor, guiding customers through technical decision-making and solution adoption.

Proposal Development & Documentation:

  • Develop technical proposals, statements of work (SOWs), and RFP responses that clearly outline solution benefits and technical implementation.
  • Collaborate with sales and technical teams to define the scope, pricing, and deliverables for each project.
  • Create professional PowerPoint decks to visually convey solution designs, implementation roadmaps, and value propositions.

Customer Follow-Up & Support:

  • Work closely with customers to address questions, concerns, and technical challenges throughout the pre-sales cycle.
  • Provide post-presentation and proposal follow-ups to ensure customer satisfaction and maintain engagement.
  • Partner with sales and delivery teams to facilitate a smooth handoff from pre-sales to implementation.

Qualifications & Experience

Technical Expertise:

  • 5+ years of experience in Pre-Sales Engineering, Solution Architecture, or Technical Consulting with a focus on Azure Cloud.
  • Strong expertise in Azure services, including Virtual Machines, Networking, Security, Identity & Access Management, Backup & Disaster Recovery, and PaaS solutions.
  • Experience with Azure Site Recovery (ASR), Backup as a Service (BaaS), and Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS).
  • Knowledge of Azure governance, security, compliance, and cost management best practices.

Business & Communication Skills:

  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into business-friendly presentations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience writing technical proposals, SOWs, and documentation.
  • Strong presentation and public speaking skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Customer-focused mindset with strong problem-solving and relationship-building skills.

Tools & Software:

  • Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Lucidchart (for solution design and documentation).
  • CRM & Proposal Tools (e.g., Salesforce or similar platforms).
  • Azure Cost Management & Licensing Tools to optimize cloud spend and provide accurate cost estimates.

Preferred Certifications (Not Required but a Plus):

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
  • ITIL Foundation (for managed services best practices)
  • AWS or Google Cloud certifications (if applicable for multi-cloud engagements)

Safe Remote Job Search Tips

Verify Employer Thoroughly

Research the company's identity thoroughly before applying. Check for a professional website with contacts, active social media, and LinkedIn profiles. Verify details across platforms and look for reviews on Glassdoor or Trustpilot to confirm legitimacy.

Never Pay to Get a Job

Legitimate employers never require payment for applications, training, background checks, or equipment. Always reject upfront payment requests or demands for bank details, even if they claim it's for purchasing necessary work gear on your behalf.

Safeguard Your Personal Information

Protect sensitive data like SSN, bank details, or ID copies. Share this only after accepting a formal, written job offer. Ensure it's submitted via a secure company system or portal, never through insecure channels like standard email attachments.

Scrutinize Communication & Interviews

Watch for communication red flags: poor grammar, generic emails (@gmail), vague details, or undue pressure. Be highly suspicious of interviews held only via text or chat apps; legitimate companies typically use video or phone calls.

Beware of Unrealistic Offers

If an offer's salary or benefits seem unrealistically high for the work involved, be cautious. Research standard pay for similar roles. Offers that appear 'too good to be true' are often scams designed to lure you into providing information or payment.

Insist on a Formal Contract

Always secure and review a formal, written job offer or employment contract before starting work or sharing final personal details. Ensure it clearly defines your role, compensation, key terms, and conditions to avoid misunderstandings or scams.
