Job Description

Principal Product Manager (Remote)

Build AI-powered healthcare systems for America’s safety net.

Pair Team is redefining how vulnerable populations receive care — and we’re looking for a Principal Product Manager to lead the charge on our most critical initiatives.

We combine technology, AI, and human touch to serve Medicaid patients with complex needs: those experiencing homelessness, food insecurity, serious mental illness, and substance use. Our platform powers a national safety-net care model, supporting community-based organizations, providers, and health plans.

As Principal PM, you’ll operate as a strategic partner to company leadership, guiding end-to-end product vision and execution. You’ll work at the bleeding edge of AI-enabled care delivery, building systems that blend clinical, operational, and machine intelligence into one seamless experience — and you'll be empowered to lead with a deep sense of ownership.

This role is ideal for a product leader looking to:

  • Make meaningful impact on real people’s health
  • Operate with autonomy on high-stakes, strategic initiatives
  • Collaborate deeply across clinical, ops, engineering, and AI
  • Scale a product org the right way — senior, high trust, no bureaucracy
  • Build for complexity, ambiguity, and real-world messiness

About Pair Team

Pair Team is on a mission to improve the wellbeing of underserved communities through increased access to high-quality care.

We are the first tech-enabled care team that empowers safety-net primary care systems and the patients they serve. We have a full clinical and social care team to provide a personalized, high-touch care experience while addressing patients' barriers to care such as lack of transportation, housing/food insecurity, and mobile phone access. Internally, we are building a care delivery platform to ensure social & clinical best practices, integrate with community-based organizations, and automate administrative work so we can focus on time with our patients.

Our Values

  • Trust: We consistently strive to earn the trust of our patients and their families, our clinic partners, and our teammates.
  • Growth: We grow together – as a company and as individuals.
  • Accountability: We act like owners and take pride in our work.
  • Act beyond yourself: Our vision and impact goes beyond ourselves and so must our actions.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead major strategic product areas tied to company OKRs and long-term roadmap
  • Own multi-pod product initiatives from vision to launch to scaling
  • Develop product strategy in partnership with clinical, operations, and engineering leadership
  • Operate with deep fluency in product, business, and technical dimensions of your domain, including active leadership in system architecture and infrastructure design
  • Use AI tools and Pair’s internal platform to rapidly build and iterate on functional prototypes and workflow automations — not just author PRDs
  • Use data (quantitative + qualitative) to shape decisions, measure outcomes, and iterate effectively
  • Mentor other PMs and engineers through informal coaching, modeling strong product thinking and execution

Who You Are

  • Strategic Leader & Influencer: Trusted as a peer by senior leadership; you shape the product roadmap and influence company direction.
  • AI-First Builder: You’re excited to build in a new era where PMs are more empowered than ever by AI. You proactively use the latest AI tools to accelerate ideation, prototyping, and problem-solving — and you're continuously exploring how emerging capabilities can change what’s possible.
  • Visionary & Tactical Operator: You move seamlessly between setting high-level direction and sweating the product details.
  • Systems Thinker: You anticipate the downstream effects of decisions and optimize for long-term health of the system.
  • Deeply Technical: You can meaningfully contribute to technical decisions, influence architectural direction, and engage closely with engineering leads.
  • Operationally Fluent: You understand our care model deeply, and are seen as a thought partner by ops leadership.
  • Mentor & Multiplier: You elevate those around you — offering guidance, feedback, and clarity in ambiguous moments.
  • Exceptional Communicator: You write clearly, drive alignment in complex situations, and externalize your reasoning.
  • Data-Driven Decision Maker: You blend data, operations knowledge, and user empathy to make sound tradeoffs.
  • High-Slope, High-Impact: You drive major impact through a mix of expertise, execution, and strategic judgment.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of product management experience, ideally with prior ownership of a complex, high-impact product area
  • Experience leading cross-functional product initiatives across product, engineering, design, and operations
  • Fluency with technical systems and ability to work closely with engineering partners
  • Strong user research and data analysis skills; able to generate insights from both
  • Deep curiosity and humility, especially about underserved communities and complex care delivery
  • Bonus: Experience working in high-growth startup environments with rapidly evolving business needs

Because We Value You

  • Competitive salary: $190,000-$240,000
  • Equity compensation package
  • Flexible vacation policy – take the time you need to recharge
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • 401(k) through Guideline
  • 100% company-sponsored short and long-term disability and life insurance
  • Subsidized backup childcare and caregiver supports through Wellthy
  • Work entirely from the comfort of your own home
  • Monthly $100 work from home expense stipend
  • We provide the equipment needed for the role
  • Opportunity for rapid career progression with plenty of room for personal growth!

Safe Remote Job Search Tips

Verify Employer Thoroughly

Research the company's identity thoroughly before applying. Check for a professional website with contacts, active social media, and LinkedIn profiles. Verify details across platforms and look for reviews on Glassdoor or Trustpilot to confirm legitimacy.

Never Pay to Get a Job

Legitimate employers never require payment for applications, training, background checks, or equipment. Always reject upfront payment requests or demands for bank details, even if they claim it's for purchasing necessary work gear on your behalf.

Safeguard Your Personal Information

Protect sensitive data like SSN, bank details, or ID copies. Share this only after accepting a formal, written job offer. Ensure it's submitted via a secure company system or portal, never through insecure channels like standard email attachments.

Scrutinize Communication & Interviews

Watch for communication red flags: poor grammar, generic emails (@gmail), vague details, or undue pressure. Be highly suspicious of interviews held only via text or chat apps; legitimate companies typically use video or phone calls.

Beware of Unrealistic Offers

If an offer's salary or benefits seem unrealistically high for the work involved, be cautious. Research standard pay for similar roles. Offers that appear 'too good to be true' are often scams designed to lure you into providing information or payment.

Insist on a Formal Contract

Always secure and review a formal, written job offer or employment contract before starting work or sharing final personal details. Ensure it clearly defines your role, compensation, key terms, and conditions to avoid misunderstandings or scams.
