What you will do:
- Create and drive the execution of target-state 1-3 year cloud-native architecture for our end-to-end software platform
- Lead the design and be a subject matter expert for teams delivering modern cloud SaaS end-to-end solutions for global employment
- Peer with engineering and product leadership to define and refine the future state of Global Growth Technology
- Drive architecture consistency and technology decisions across all platform components to harmonize integration, maximize reuse and align investment with customer expectations and technology vision
- Perform a hands-on role, where you will work with other architects and engineering team leads to deliver proof-of-concepts in Node/Typescript, Java/Spring, or other platform/languages as needed
- Partner with customers (internal / external), business operations & support, engineering, and product to become a trusted customer advocate for platform development and implementation.
- Define and execute software platform security standards and compliance across all components to ensure against unwanted platform and data breaches
- Facilitate Well-Architected Reviews and Threat Modelling exercises with engineering teams and work with them to properly assess risks
- Be the sounding board for validating and introducing new technologies, including 3rd-party applications and open source solutions
- Understand Total Cost of Ownership & technology trade-offs
- Evangelize and educate engineering teams on best practices for delivering world class software solution
- Create an environment of accountability for reaching team/project goals
- Assume deep business knowledge of area or areas aligned
- Define our application analytics strategy with Product Management
- Ensure System & Infrastructure architecture results in high reliability and low outages as key measure of success
What we are looking for:
- 8+ years of experience driving architectural and design decisions at software-centric companies
- Extensive experience architecting solutions for a Cloud SaaS system, AWS a plus
- Hands-on experience in composable Serverless-first architecture, including micro-frontend and backend-for-frontend patterns and the role of event-driven architecture in modern full-stack systems
- Working knowledge on application security, key management, data protection, IAM, and cloud network security
- A self-motivated, strategic thinker with a demonstrated ability to thrive in an unstructured and often ambiguous environment, Systems Thinking ability is an asset
- Strong written and verbal communicator capable of engaging at various of the organization as well as with customers, partners, and at events
- Ability to conceptualize, design and validate creative solutions to complex technical issues, experience with an organization-wide EDA is beneficial
- Demonstrated ability to quickly and proficiently understand new architectures and designs
- Ability to structure and process qualitative and quantitative data and draw insightful conclusions
- Effective thought leader who gains buy-in for architecture and design ideas and technical leadership
- Forward thinker with the ability to make current decisions with future considerations in mind, planning ways to prevent future tech-debt or inhibiting long term development
- A proactive advocate for continuous improvement, developer enablement and engineering excellence who will engage and lead working groups in these and other areas

The annual gross base salary range for this position is $136,000 - $170,000 plus variable compensation.
