Job Description
Overview
PandaDoc is hiring a Principal Product Manager to lead one of the most foundational areas of our platform — the systems that power user identity, authentication, invitations, and access across our product.
Identity and access at PandaDoc isn’t just about security — it’s a strategic foundation for AI, collaboration, monetization, and personalized experiences across the platform.
You’ll lead the evolution of this platform, shaping a modern identity architecture that empowers secure collaboration, intelligent automation, and scalable product development. Your work will unlock future business models, enable access-aware workflows, and support trusted user experiences across diverse customer segments — from fast-moving SMBs to security-conscious enterprises.
This is a platform leadership role with broad, company-wide impact. You'll define scalable abstractions, streamline adoption, and ensure our identity and access foundations are built for long-term velocity, flexibility, and trust.
In this role, you will:
- Define and drive the IAM platform strategy — including user identity, session handling, roles and permissions, and organization modeling.
- Own the lifecycle of core IAM capabilities, including:
- Authentication, session lifecycle, and scoped access
- Role-based and object-level access control (RBAC/ABAC)
- Invite and user provisioning flows (manual and SCIM)
- Scoped tokens, impersonation, and audit infrastructure
- Shape shared capabilities that reduce redundant logic, simplify team implementation paths, and serve as building blocks for secure, intelligent workflows.
- Collaborate with engineers to make architectural tradeoffs, design for extensibility, and ensure security and performance standards.
- Partner cross-functionally with teams in Billing, AI, Workflow, and Growth to support access-aware product features and platform adoption.
- Contribute to monetization strategy by enabling packaging models tied to seats, roles, and feature entitlements.
- Align with Security and Compliance on scoped access, audit trails, and enterprise readiness requirements.
- Accelerate adoption through documentation, internal enablement, and usage governance.
- Design for clarity, composability, and scale — reducing friction across teams and creating a durable foundation for access-aware product development.
About You:
- 7+ years of product management experience in B2B SaaS, ideally with focus on platform, IAM, or security-related systems.
- Proven track record of owning technical domains and delivering scalable capabilities used across multiple teams.
- Hands-on experience with IAM or access systems in multi-tenant SaaS, enterprise platforms, or regulated environments.
- Strategic mindset — understands how identity intersects with monetization, collaboration, and product flexibility.
- Systems thinker who brings clarity to complexity, models scalable abstractions, and balances long-term quality with speed.
- Technically fluent — confident in discussing architecture, token strategies, roles/permissions, and system boundaries with engineering partners.
- Excellent communicator — able to align diverse stakeholders and influence decision-making without formal authority.
- Thoughtful about privacy, trust, and sustainable system design in identity-driven user experiences.
- Familiarity with industry standards like SCIM (provisioning), OAuth2/SAML (authentication), and RBAC/ABAC (permissions).
- Experience with enterprise-readiness features (e.g., SSO, delegated access, audit trails) or identity-based monetization is highly valued.
Why Join PandaDoc?
- Lead a mission-critical platform area that touches security, collaboration, billing, and AI.
- Help build a trusted, composable identity platform that enables faster product development and richer user experiences.
- Collaborate with talented, low-ego teammates across Product, Engineering, and Design.
- Influence technical strategy and system architecture with broad visibility and support.
- Join a remote-first, autonomy-driven culture that values impact over process.
- Build for scale — helping power a product used by tens of thousands of businesses globally.

Verify Employer Thoroughly
Research the company's identity thoroughly before applying. Check for a professional website with contacts, active social media, and LinkedIn profiles. Verify details across platforms and look for reviews on Glassdoor or Trustpilot to confirm legitimacy.
Never Pay to Get a Job
Legitimate employers never require payment for applications, training, background checks, or equipment. Always reject upfront payment requests or demands for bank details, even if they claim it's for purchasing necessary work gear on your behalf.
Safeguard Your Personal Information
Protect sensitive data like SSN, bank details, or ID copies. Share this only after accepting a formal, written job offer. Ensure it's submitted via a secure company system or portal, never through insecure channels like standard email attachments.
Scrutinize Communication & Interviews
Watch for communication red flags: poor grammar, generic emails (@gmail), vague details, or undue pressure. Be highly suspicious of interviews held only via text or chat apps; legitimate companies typically use video or phone calls.
Beware of Unrealistic Offers
If an offer's salary or benefits seem unrealistically high for the work involved, be cautious. Research standard pay for similar roles. Offers that appear 'too good to be true' are often scams designed to lure you into providing information or payment.
Insist on a Formal Contract
Always secure and review a formal, written job offer or employment contract before starting work or sharing final personal details. Ensure it clearly defines your role, compensation, key terms, and conditions to avoid misunderstandings or scams.
