Job Description

About Ditto:

Ditto is on a mission to unleash the full power of edge devices by removing all the plumbing required to build amazing applications. We bridge the digital divide by enabling real-time data synchronization—even when internet connectivity is limited or non-existent. Our peer-to-peer technology is trusted by major customers like Chick-fil-A and Delta Airlines, and we also work closely with the U.S. military on mission-critical connectivity solutions. As a fast-growing startup poised for a future IPO, our team is globally distributed, and our core values are trust, communication, and continuous improvement. We celebrate diversity and strive to create a team that encompasses a wide range of backgrounds, skill sets, and perspectives.

Overview:

Ditto is seeking a highly motivated and technically adept Product Manager specifically for Defense-focused solutions within our Federal Team. Our Federal business currently supports elite U.S. military units, including the U.S. Air Force, Navy, and Special Operations Command, with potential to expand into broader government opportunities. This role is pivotal in identifying and delivering mission-critical software solutions tailored to defense applications while simultaneously enhancing Ditto’s core platform capabilities. The position requires flexibility for travel, including potential extended trips and overseas travel, to work closely with our defense and government partners.

Responsibilities:

  • Engage closely with defense-focused federal clients, end users, and internal stakeholders to deeply understand military mission requirements and translate them into clear, actionable product strategies.
  • Balance custom defense solutions with Ditto’s overarching product roadmap, ensuring strategic alignment and integration into the core platform.
  • Identify and execute strategic opportunities to prototype and rapidly iterate using Ditto’s existing capabilities, and evaluate when dedicated defense product initiatives or teams are necessary.
  • Oversee the full lifecycle of defense products, including conception, prototyping, integration, deployment, and iterative feedback.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, design, sales, and senior leadership to maintain unified strategic direction and clarity.
  • Communicate technical concepts clearly and persuasively to technical and non-technical stakeholders, including military personnel and executive leadership.
  • Manage expectations, prioritize effectively, and allocate resources to ensure timely delivery of high-quality defense solutions.
  • Continuously seek enhancements in product efficiency, scalability, and maintainability, explicitly avoiding a drift into a services-driven model.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
  • Proven experience (3+ years) as a Product Manager.
  • Solid understanding of software development lifecycles, agile methodologies, and system architecture.
  • Demonstrated experience creating, managing, and prioritizing product roadmaps.
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills capable of effectively engaging diverse stakeholders.
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently, including extended and international trips.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.

Ideal Experience:

  • Existing Secret or Top Secret (TS) security clearance.
  • Experience with defense-oriented software systems, including Command & Control (C2), autonomy platforms, or Android Tactical Assault Kit (ATAK).
  • Background in edge computing, distributed systems, or synchronization software.
  • Familiarity or direct collaboration with U.S. military branches (USAF, Navy, Special Operations Command).
  • Passion for or prior experience working in defense and government sectors.

What Success Looks Like:

  • Successfully identifies, prioritizes, and executes opportunities that meet defense-specific customer needs while enhancing Ditto’s core capabilities.
  • Consistent integration of developed defense solutions into Ditto’s core platform or initiation of dedicated product innovations.
  • Maintains strategic product vision, preventing drift toward pure service engagements.

Ditto is committed to building innovative solutions that empower our nation’s defense forces with unmatched edge sync technology. We seek individuals passionate about delivering cutting-edge products that enhance mission effectiveness and operational readiness.

Safe Remote Job Search Tips

Verify Employer Thoroughly

Research the company's identity thoroughly before applying. Check for a professional website with contacts, active social media, and LinkedIn profiles. Verify details across platforms and look for reviews on Glassdoor or Trustpilot to confirm legitimacy.

Never Pay to Get a Job

Legitimate employers never require payment for applications, training, background checks, or equipment. Always reject upfront payment requests or demands for bank details, even if they claim it's for purchasing necessary work gear on your behalf.

Safeguard Your Personal Information

Protect sensitive data like SSN, bank details, or ID copies. Share this only after accepting a formal, written job offer. Ensure it's submitted via a secure company system or portal, never through insecure channels like standard email attachments.

Scrutinize Communication & Interviews

Watch for communication red flags: poor grammar, generic emails (@gmail), vague details, or undue pressure. Be highly suspicious of interviews held only via text or chat apps; legitimate companies typically use video or phone calls.

Beware of Unrealistic Offers

If an offer's salary or benefits seem unrealistically high for the work involved, be cautious. Research standard pay for similar roles. Offers that appear 'too good to be true' are often scams designed to lure you into providing information or payment.

Insist on a Formal Contract

Always secure and review a formal, written job offer or employment contract before starting work or sharing final personal details. Ensure it clearly defines your role, compensation, key terms, and conditions to avoid misunderstandings or scams.
