About the Role:
This Project Manager role will fill the in support of more senior Project and Program Management staff. It provides an exciting career path into the Project Management family of jobs within the Abacus Client Delivery Program Management Office. You will have the opportunity to work on information technology projects within the US healthcare payer industry building powerful skills, knowledge, and experience for your career at the intersection of IT and healthcare. You will have the opportunity to gain this experience on projects where cutting edge cloud-based technologies are being deployed and within a dynamic and fast-growing company.
You Will:
- Serve as the central point of coordination between cross functional teams
- Support project scoping, planning, and timeline estimation with input from cross-functional stakeholders
- Monitor and report project progress, risks, and blockers
- Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of PMO standards, tools, and delivery frameworks.
- Mentor team members on Agile best practices and Abacus-specific workflows, reinforcing a culture of accountability and adaptability.
- Take ownership of maintaining project documentation
- Provide other project management support duties as needed to program management.
What We're Looking For:
- 3+ years professional experience in IT project management roles
- 1+ years’ experience in Agile Methodologies
- Bachelor’s degree, ideally in a relevant field of study (Information Technology, Computer Science, Healthcare Management, etc.
- Software development technology background in work experience and / or training
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong soft skills for intra-team relationship building
- Payer industry (Medicaid) experience preferred
