Research Engineer at Pareto
As a researcher at Pareto you will help build the foundation of our research organization from the ground up. You'll be working at the intersection of cutting-edge AI research and real-world applications in the future of work domain, with the unique opportunity to shape both our research direction and organizational culture.
Pareto is a high growth startup delivering super-human level training data to AI partners. We embrace research driven insights, historically around human-computer interaction and the future of work for designing orchestration systems to help us produce better data. We are now excited to conduct more research on cutting edge challenges facing the AI industry.
Key Responsibilities
Contribute fundamental ideas and strategic planning for research initiatives across many potential areas such as post-training, training strategies, core ML. We also have interest in human computation, computer supported cooperative work, and future of work though likely require a technical lens on these areas.
Design and execute rigorous experiments to validate research hypotheses and explore valuable insights for Pareto and our customers in a fast paced environment. Fundamental research is possible but likely lower priority than more applied research
Write compelling research content for diverse audiences including the general public, AI industry professionals, and academic communities to help establish thought leadership in this space
Collaborate cross-functionally with the rest of the team to run experiments and to transfer solutions into production
Core Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in technical field such as CS, ML, stats, math, electrical engineering, or physics (potentially areas like computational social sciences etc. depending on focus); advanced degrees strongly preferred
For more senior roles, experience managing research teams will be necessary
Research experience, ideally including impactful publications at top AI/ML venues
