Ruby Software Engineer

The Role
• Lead the creation, development, and implementation of critical system design changes, enhancements, and software projects
• Ensure timely execution of project deliverables
• Work with other engineers to ensure the system and product is consistent and aligned through all processes
• Improve product quality, performance, and security through substantial process improvements
• Follow development standards and promote best practices
• Perform code review sessions & suggest improvements or alternatives when appropriate.
Requirements & Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• 5+ years of software development experience with a strong background in Ruby on Rails
• Proficient in writing SQL queries against a relational database
• Comfortable operating in a Linux environment
• Experience in REST and effective web services design
• Experience with version control systems, such as Git
• Nice to have - Front-end development experience with Backbone.js and JavaScript
What we offer

- Short-term independent contractor agreement (until September) with the possibility of extending it until December
